Milk Bottles

I tried to drown out Darcy's freaky weird music with my own semi-normal stuff, but it was no use. I walked over and banged my fists on the wall separating our rooms.

"SHUT UP DARCE!" I screeched. Her only reply was a single whack on the wall.

For identical twins Darcy and I may look the same but we have two personalities that are totally opposite. Let's just say I am the type of girl that would go partying in a dress and heels and yeah, well, I don't know if Darcy would even go.

Growing up with Darce was weird. Our parents knew she was an oddball from the moment she could speak. Her first word was muso, which is short for musician, and it's stuck. She's been playing guitar for almost 7 years, and singing for just over 4. Ok, it's cool sometimes, like when we're sitting round a campfire or something, but not when you come home from work after school and she's rocking out impromptu riffs and almost shattering every window in existence.

I know, I'm harsh. You see, I'm kinda popular in my grade. People just, you know, tend to like me! It's awesome, and I love them right back, but I feel sorry for my twin sometimes. She hangs out with a group of skaters, all of them being guys. I, being the older and far more responsible one, worry about her, even though it may not show. She has so much potential to be something, and I don't want her going down the wrong path. True, she's a rebel and an angst and grumpy almost all the time unless it's a Saturday, but she's a good person. And somewhere, deep in that cobwebby soul, there's a Darcy that people aren't scared of. I guess I'm her opposite. I kept my hair colour the natural strawberry blonde, and did NOT dye it black like SOME people. I'm fun, happy go lucky and just a generally happy person. I'm just glad to be alive I guess. I live life to its fullest, but I'm sensible at the same time. It's awkward to actually know that mum favours me above my sister. I never liked that.

We had our good days and our bad days. Sometimes, she'll wake up in a really bad mood and you can't be within 5 metres of her before she's had her coffee. Sometimes, I'll be just that stressed over something that you can't be within 5 metres of ME before I've had some milk bottles and a serious Delta fix.

Another thing with Darce, she does NOT like my music. I am in love with One Direction, Bruno Mars and of course, Delta Lea Goodrem, but Darcy, Darcy likes Nirvana and Green Day and Good Charlotte and Switchfoot and weird rocky punky alternate stuff... I shudder at the thought!

I turn back around to find Heather spread across my rug and -

"I can't believe you invaded the jumbo-size bag of milk bottles! They were for Delta if we were lucky enough to meet her" I screamed.

"What?! Hahaha were we going to wait in the car park and throw them down to her from the top level?"

"Ugh, yeah! With a note attached of course".

"Hmm, I guess now that they are open we shouldn't waste them" I hinted.

Soon enough Heather and I were throwing milk bottles from distances across the room into each other's mouths.

"Chloe, there is someone wrong with your sister" I think was what Heather said while chewing or possibly choking on about 10 milk bottles at once.

"Tell me about it. She doesn't even like Delta nor relise how much she is overcome in such a short amount of time. I mean yeah I love her and stuff cause she is my sis but --"

My bedroom door almost burst off it's hinges and Darcy swaggered inside like it was her own room.

I am pretty sure that the whole neighborhood was awoken by Darcy's not-so-important annoucement, "I SMELL MILK BOTTLES!"

I got up, grabbed her arm and manhandled her out of my room.

"I don't like your obsession" confidently said by an easily grinned Darcy.

"It's NOT an obsession. And anyway, YOU have weird 'moments' with your obsessions" I said including finger apostrophes.

"Like what?"

"Well I remember last summer when I saw you in your room with some poster on the wall and--"

"Ok, ok, ok" Darcy said wanting me to stop.

"What's their name? Good Day, was it?"

"Duddde! You either mean GREEN Day or Good CHARLOTTE! Chloe please stop!".

"I am a nice sister so I won't humiliate you with the ending of that story."

"That would be great thanks" Heather was quick to say.

Darcy spun on her heel, whipping me in the face with her choppy black hair that had been dyed 2 years ago from my beautiful strawberry blonde colour and slammed the door of her room, cranking up the volume of the stereo mum got her for her birthday.

"CHLOE ITS TIME TO GO!" Mum said so not excited from downstairs.

I think this concert will change my life, cause, I mean I have never seen Heather swallow whole that many milk bottles before... Wow.

"Aagghhh I can't wait OMG OMG OMG" Heather fan girled.
