Mateo's POV

I'm sitting in bed with Piper sleeping next to me and thinking to myself why in the hell did I get back with her. The day Elijah came home telling me about how 'amazing' it was to hang out with Emma, I couldn't stay there and listen to him talk about her like he truly cared about her.

I took off angry after Elijah said he might have feelings for Emma. I went down to Fry Street to get a drink or two. Found Piper and her clan at the bar she came over like a pray on a mission. I knew the way her mind works and the only thing she wanted from me was sex and attention. I mean being the captain of the varsity and being popular can get you recognized.

As soon as we contacted each other we couldn't stop our hands from wondering each other's bodies. Being wasted makes everything look like you are living in a different world. And then one thing led to another Piper and I end up in her room making out like there's no tomorrow.

The next morning, I wake up to Piper naked next to me and that's when I knew what had happened. She meant nothing to me what we had in the past was fun but I didn't see her like that anymore. I was only using her for distraction in hopes of getting Emma out of my head but it didn't work.

With every contact, I was imagining Emma there in Piper's place the way she kissed me, the way she went down on me taking my whole length in her mouth, and when I was hittin' it from behind I thought of Emma.

Before leaving Piper's dorm she informs me that we became a couple again. I didn't react to what she said I just left without a saying. I didn't have time to deal with her nonsense early in the morning.

Earlier when Jacko had his BBQ/Pool Party for the whole soccer team I noticed Emma as soon as she came in. Her beauty beat every girl there and that tight ass bikini she had on showed every curve on that body. I knew she saw me kissing Piper because I was facing her direction and Piper had her back to her.

Her reaction to the kissing was shocked but that quickly went away when she saw Elijah. She completely ignored that I was there watching her flirt with him, and what got me so pissed off is when I saw they were shoving each other's tongues down their throat.

When I saw her get out of the pool I walked up to her with fumes coming out of my nostrils. I know I didn't have the right to go up to her. But she was driving me crazy ever since that night I brought her to my dorm I started liking her.

She's so different from the girls I've been with and very different from Piper. She's not afraid to be herself around people. The only thing she's looking for is to be protected and to be loved. And when I noticed that her whole character quickly changed I knew something was up. So, I decided to follow her without her knowing.

That's when the whole ex-boyfriend craze happen once I saw him put a hand on Emma, I lost my shit and went completely crazy. Something in me made me want to protect her and keep her safe in my arms.

The fear in her eyes let me know that her life before coming here has been leaving hell. But something in her face reminded me of my mother. The way she looked at her ex is the way my mother looked at her husband Greg. Something in me wanted to get close to her and make feel safe but then knowing that Emma's ex is in the Mafia made me think twice.

Do I really want to put myself in a situation where I may possibly be in danger or ignore it all and go for what the heart wants?

When we were settled in my room I knew she was the one for me. My feelings towards Emma are definitely there, and I know she knows by the way she desperately wanted to kiss me. She felt the same way towards me but she was afraid to show it.

The minute Piper came in like a fucking storm Emma put up a wall between us. When Piper told she was my girlfriend she changes the way she looked at me. 

I gave a spiteful look at Emma the minute she began to kiss Elijah. I'm the one who's supposed to get that kiss I mean I did save her life from her ex. I am the knight and shining armor to her fairy tale but nothing happens like it should.

Once she said that Elijah is her boyfriend that ruined the rest of the night. But I am not letting her go that easy.
