brennan pov
i walk in the house from work, throwing my keys on the kitchen counter. i smile to my mom on the coach as i head for my room.
"hey brennan, how was work." she asks.
"good." i respond and close my door.
i scroll through instagram again. annie posted a picture. another one with that hayden guy. it shouldn't bother me, but it does. a few of my other friends posted, so i like their pictures also.
i then hear the front door slam shut. i walk out of my bedroom to see katie back from gym.
"oh it's just you" i laugh jokingly.
"hey!" she laughs with me.
ryan comes racing upstairs because he probably heard the door too.
"okay now that everyone's here, i have a surprise!im sorry to say it's mostly for katie, but the boys can come along if they want." mom says excitedly.
i laugh a little and start to slowly walk back to my room, uninterested.
"hey hey wait brennan." mom says.
i stop and listen to what she has to say.
"so i know katie has been missing annie-"
i instantly zone out after hearing her name.
"and i thought we could could go and visit her in LA!" i hear mom finish.
"yes!" katie says super excited.
"aw mom, i have a golf tournament and swim meet this weekend. i don't think i can go." ryan reminds mom.
"aw ry guy i completely forgot! maybe next time for sure!" mom says reassuringly.
mom starts to look over at me. "now honey, i know you and ann-" she starts."
"it's all good," i cut her off by lying," i'd rather be in LA anyways" i give off a fake laugh.
"when do we leave?" katie asks.
"in two days. and remember it's a surprise! she doesn't know we're coming." mom says.
