Friday Night

"Hey Julie, are you coming to my party later?" I was bombarded with that question as i walked out of class. It was Daniel Lynch, the hottest guy in school. "Yeah I'll definately be there." i said trying to not show that i was blushing. "Sweet, so I'll see you there!" he said as he walked away. He winked at me. Daniel Lynch was 6'1. He had short curly brown hair with gorgeous brown eyes and the body every guy dreamed of. I wanted to ask him if he would be my prom date but i didnt know if he already had a date.

"Julie, what's wrong with you? Your blushing!" my bestfriend Katelynn said as she stepped in front of me. "Daniel Lynch!" was all i could mumble out. "What did Daniel do?!" she asked with excitement in her voice. "He asked me to come to his party tonight!"

She shreaked while jumping up and down. "Stop! He might know we are talking about him!" I said in fear he'd hear her loud girlish squeal. Katelynn was the same height as me 5'5. She had long blonde hair with a side bang and blue eyes. She whipped her head around smacking my face with her hair "Hey! Watch it!" I said. She snapped her head back to me, "Are you gonna ask him to prom tonight?" she said with excitement. "I have to find out if he has a date first! I dont wanna be turned down by the hottest guy in school."

She gave me the look by crossing her arms, her eyes squinted & her nostrils flared. "What?" I said turning to walk down the hall. "Why cant i just ask Scott? That is his best friend and I just so happen to know he likes me."

"Hey there Katelynn. I'm hoping to see you at the party later!" said Scott as he came up from behind Katelynn while grabbing her waist. "I might be there but who say I'll be looking for you?" she said with a flirtatious look in her eyes. "Ehhhh! Can you guys go somewhere else with that flirty love crap? I think im gonna be sick!" I said with disgust. "Oh hush. Your just mad about DANIEL!" Katelynn said almost yelling it.

"Dammit Katelynn! You can never keep your big mouth shut!" I said angrily. "Woah woah calm down Jules, she was just kidding. Besides, you shouldn't be mad because Daniel likes you." he said walking away with his arm wrapped around Katelynn. "What?" i managed to whisper out in shock. Did he just say what i think he said?

As I was walking down the hallway looking at the floor trying to process what Scott had said I ran into what felt like a brick wall. "Ouch!" I said rubbing my head and looking up at what I ran into. It was Aaron Young, the hot yet giant asshole of the school. Aaron was a tall pale skinned guy with dark hair that fell just above his eyebrows and light blue eyes. Somehow the jerk managed to get girls to drool over him like he was some kind of deity. He walked around with his head held high all the time and he was known for hooking up with girls in the janitors closet and smoking pot in the school bathrooms.

"Hey there sexy. How about me and you go to prom and we can do something special afterwards." he said raising his eyebrows at me while running his hand down my arm. "Uhh no thanks. I already have a date in mind." I said as I slowly pulled my arm away from his. But he grabbed my arm with force and turned me so my back was against the locker. "Now dont be like that babe. I'll be nice and gentle just for you." he said while rubbing my cheek with his free hand. "No Aaron I dont want to go to prom with you... Now please just let me go." I said quietly not trying to cause a scene. "But if I do that you might try to get away from me and I wouldn't be able to..." he leaned in to attempt to kiss me until a very familiar voice came from behind him.

"Hey dude she asked nicely, so just leave the lady alone" he said. Aaron stepped from in front of me to reveal Daniel Lynch coming to get that creep away from me. He somehow managed to get him out of my hair and I wasn't sure if I was dreaming or if it was reality. "Hey, are you okay? Did that piece of shit hurt you?" he asked as he gently placed his hand on my shoulder. "N-no im fine... My head hurts a little from running into him. Thanks for helping me though.... that was really nice of you." I said tucking my hair behind my ear and looking at the ground. "Well you should really look where you're going besides somebody's got to protect you." Daniel said confidentially with a giggle. All I could do was smile... Daniel Lynch just made himself my protector. I couldn't help but to blush at his words.

"So who are you taking to prom? Are you even going?" Daniel asked sounding nervous. "Umm yeah im going but only if the person I want to go with will take me. I dont really want to go with anyone else." I said rubbing my arm and looking around while walking next to Daniel. "Oh.... okay well do you mind if I ask who?" he asked anxiously. "Its kinda a secret!" I said with alittle excitement in my voice. "Well whoever he is... he is going to be a very lucky guy to go with a beautiful girl like you." he said softly with a smile. My heart started to race as I realized how close our faces were. I cleared my throat which broke our locked eyes. "Um I have to go to class.. I think the bell just rang.." I said nervously. "Um yeah thats fine. I'll see you after class. Bye!" Daniel replied to my awkwardness.

I sat in my English class while Mrs. Brown wrote stuff on the board about Shakespeare. I couldn't help but to drift off into my thoughts. All I could think about was that Daniel likes me, helped me, and was close enough to my face to kiss me. I've had a major crush on Daniel since we started high school. He was the new kid in town and I saw him every morning walking to school. We had talked every once in awhile but we weren't all that close.

"Ms. Gomez! It would be nice if you joined the class." Mrs. Brown shouted to me. "Yes maam of course. I apologize." I said back quickly. She turned around to write on the board and my mind wandered. I was thinking about prom with Daniel.
