Reality of it All

As I laid there naked in the cold...

I wept.

Nose bleeding, black eye, bruises and blood everywhere.

Somehow I managed to call Katie.

"Julie where the hell are you I've been searching for you all night?"

"Katie help me please. Aaron.. he... he...." I tried so hard to spit the words out but I kept getting choked up as I sobbed in the night. "He raped me." I cried out in a raspy whisper. "I'm on my way I have the GPS for your phone I'm bringing Daniel & Scott." she said and hung up before I could respond.

Tears rushed down my face as I laid in the cold night with no clothes or car.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
I wake up. Confused. Where am I.

I sat up to look around.. I'm in a hospital.

"Hey she's waking up" I heard Daniel say. They rushed to the side of my hospital bed. Daniel grabbing my hand in his.

"What happened? Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Katie sounded so worried as questions spilled out of her brain. There was a mix of worry and anger in Daniels face as he stood there waiting for my response.

"He asked me to take him home after the party & he led me out there.... he hit me so many times Katie." I said with pain in my voice as the tears welled in my already swollen eyes. I was so ashamed to look like this in front of Daniel but I was glad he was there. "He took my car.. he ripped my clothes... I tried to fight back.." I choke on my own words.

"Where the fuck is this guy?" Scott said with anger in his voice as he paced in the hospital room. "Scott just calm down we'll find him." Katie said grabbing his arm stopping him from pacing around the room. "Sorry I'm just so pissed off that he would do something to someone so innocent!" Scott said as the rage built up in his voice.

"Ms. Gomez." the doctor said when he walked in the room. "Yes." I said looking down. "We ran some tests on you including a rape kit. The results haven't come in yet, however we will let you know when they do. When your ready the police have a few questions for you." he said. "Thank you doctor." Katie said with a slight smile.

*Three weeks later*

"Come on Julie you haven't been out of your bed since you got out of the hospital." Katie said pulling the covers off of me. "No I don't want to go! I still have bruises and I don't want anybody seeing me like this." I replied as I put the pillow on top of my head.

"Come on Danny misses you. He asks about you everyday." she said with a little joy in her tone. "I miss him to so much but he's just my friend he doesn't want to be anything more.... Especially now that I've been raped & my virginity was thrown out the door." I said hanging my head low.

*knock knock* "Sorry to interrupt I really needed to see you." Daniel said as he entered my room. "I miss you" I tried to hide my blush but I think everyone knew. "I'm just gonna leave you two here I'll be downstairs." Katie said hurrying out the room.

"Do you mind... if I uh.." he pointed to my bed

"No not at all." I said sitting up tucking the loose hair behind my ear and hugging myself.

He sighed.

"Look I'm not going to act like I didn't hear what you said as I was coming in here. I--" I cut him off "You don't have to say anything I already know.... Ever since I saw you with Stephanie I knew you were into her. She's your type... I'm not." I said. "Its not--" he tried to say but his phone rang.

"Hello..... Wassup man..... Wait what... Scott what did you do.... Holy shit.... No way..... Ok I'm on my way. I'm bringing the girls." He hung up the phone.

"What's going on?" I asked.. "Just put these on I'll be downstairs waiting for you." He then kissed my cheek and walked out of my room. He threw a pair of light blue jeans with tears in them and his favorite plaid shirt on my bed.

I walked down the stairs as fast as I could. Before I could ask what was going on he grabbed my hand and rushed me out to the car. Katie was already buckled in the backseat. He sped off into the street going at least 80 down a neighborhood street. We then pulled up to what looked like a park. I saw exactly why we came here.

"Danny no don't do anything stupid!" I yelled grabbing his arm as he started to unbuckle his seat belt. He ripped away from my grip and got out the car slamming the door. I got out of the car as fast as I could running up behind him begging "Please Danny no!!!" But it was too late. He had already drew his fist back punching Aaron so hard he stumbled back into a tree.

Aaron was already beat up some because Scott had seen him first.

"Come on that's all you've got Lynch! Let me see your muscles." Aaron said teasing him. "Danny look at me" I said standing in front of him trying to get his attention. "DANIEL!" I shouted trying to get his attention. He kept looking past me and walking toward Aaron so I did the only thing I could to get his attention.

I grabbed his face with both of my hands and kissed him taking our minds off of everything around us. He closed his eyes slowly and grabbed me by my waist pulling me in closer to his body. I ran my fingers threw his hair. Even in the most fucked up situation it was just how I imagined. Perfect.

Nothing mattered in this moment. It was just us here in the park. No Scott. No Katie. No Aaron.

"Get off of my girlfriend!" Aaron said breaking our perfect moment. I turned around to him in shock at what I just heard.

"She was never your girlfriend. You only want one thing from her and you took that on your own you sorry piece of shit!" Daniel yelled from behind me.

I then walked over to Aaron and smacked him in his face. "I will never be your girlfriend. What you did to me... Ruined my life.. Fuck you Aaron." I said as the tears started streaming down my face. "I'm sorry Julie okay... I didn't mean to hurt you. I love you. I've always had this big crush on you and--" Daniel came out of nowhere punching him again this time harder.

"Save it! She is my girlfriend. I love her. That's how it's always been and how it always will be." Daniel said grabbing my hand and walking me back to the car. I couldn't help but be in shock at what just happened. He opened the car door for me and I looked at him...

"Why did you--" I was cut off by his soft lips again. He grabbed me pulling me closer to him. I could feel his heart beating through his chest. We were getting more intense the longer we kissed. He had one hand on my cheek guiding me as our tongues danced. He then stopped. Both of us breathing hard.

"I've always loved you Julie. You're absolutely beautiful. I don't want anybody else. You're my type." He said looking me in my eyes. "I love you so much Daniel" I said with tears in my eyes.
