I watch my friends fighting around me, they all have such unique abilities.

Empress is using her magic dagger to hurl energy at her two opponents. She's hopping through portals and appearing behind them, to knock them off their feet. She never really talks but she is great in battle. Ever since she joined our squad, she's had a deep connection with Miss Mystery, they have their weird telepathic conversations and work so harmoniously together-

I dodge a kick from a robber and punch him in the stomach, watching him stumble backwards-

The elemental is using her air powers to throw around the three robbers who are attacking her (payback probably) and is simultaneously shooting flame-tip arrows around to help the others. I can see in her face that the blast hurt her back and shoulder but she's hiding it well. When we first found out about her secret double life and formed the team, she hid everything from us; injuries, secrets, information, like she didn't trust us. I don't know what else she's hiding but I know there's something there-

I hear a bang to my right and see nothing but smoke, I dodge out of the way of a kick and return the favour with a kick to the shins-

Missionary is facing two ninjas, they are flipping and kicking constantly, Missionary is defending well, throwing all sorts of bombs, knives and strange weapons you would only see in sci-fi movies, I don't know how she fits so much in her utility belt. She is the only one of the team that doesn't have superpowers. That is, if you don't count a genius IQ, a photographic memory and literal ninja skills as powers. That along with her inherited fortune makes her a pretty formidable opponent-

I feel a hand on my shoulder before I'm lifted up and thrown to the ground, before rolling to the left to dodge an elbow to my stomach-

Miss Mystery is surrounded by a swirling white mist, the tip of her iron stick bouncing in and out of the mist whacking the two robbers she is fighting over and over again. Her cat is bounding around her, dodging attacks. We don't really know why the cat comes to battles, but try not to question it. She is the only one in the group who's powers I don't understand, and I don't think I'm alone on that. She talks about seeing and contacting spirits but the only people who seem open to that are Empress (who also has something to do with that sort of spiritual stuff) and The Elemental (who has seen a lot and I wouldn't be surprised if she has come into contact with some sort of spirit too).

The largest of the gang comes up to me with a grin on his face, he cracks his knuckles and laughs a creepy laugh, showing his yellow teeth. I slip my specially made gloves onto my hands and get ready for a fist fight.

I could just summon his worst fear using the orb that harnesses my nightmare fuel (Missionary created that name) and get it over with, but I've been pretty stressed lately.

I need the release.

I walk up to him, standing almost a foot shorter than him and smile. 'It's cute how you think you have a chance.'

I throw a jab at his face, hitting him right in the bridge of his nose. As my fist connects with his face I hear a satisfying crack coming from his now bleeding and oddly shaped nose. He steps back, holding bloody his face, but only for a second. He charges forward and tries to hit me square in the chest but I easily avoid his attack by sidestepping and following up by elbowing him in his lower spine. He yells, arching his back and staggering towards me, making me jump and retreat a few steps.

He stands up straight and growls. An actual growl. He runs towards me again leaving me unprepared. I attempt to counter his attack by sidestepping but I'm too late. I get a punch to the chest, knocking me onto my back and leaving me winded.

I am about to stand up when I see some flaming arrows fly above my head. With overwhelming precision they hit my opponent in his broken nose, shoulder and square in the chest. I stand and punch his head, knocking him out, and look over gratefully at The Elemental and let out an amused chuckle. She laughs back and turns back around just in time to face her opponent and narrowly dodge an attack.

There were only three guys left from the gang, one facing Missionary and Empress, one going against Miss Mystery and the leader clearly losing against The elemental. I run over to Miss Mystery, dodging the multiple unconscious bodies of the robbers that are scattered along the ground, to help her fight the Robber who is seemingly winning against her.

I crack my knuckles and punch.
