The anticipation of goodbyes
And the surprise
That tears still come even when you feel numb
Maybe they shake your hand or give you a hug
But you know that you still feel stuck
It doesn't matter where you are because it feels infinitely far
The distance between us can be measured by miles and broken smiles
I get in my car to go nowhere
Because nowhere is never somewhere without you
I'm sitting here listening to stupid love songs
And my heart can't help but follow along
