I lived in a small town in the country side, the town was nothing special it was your everyday quiet town well it was till one moment in my life would change that.

I still remember how everything looked on that day. It was a sunny day in July, the streets where dead empty since it was evening so most people where at work.

I was on my way back from grocery shopping, I walked out of the small local store we had in town and down the hot walkway that led to the park which always was my favourite shortcut.

My unusual white messy short hair blowing back a little as a breeze hit my face, my coal black eyes closing as I was enjoying the breeze.

On that day I wore some red shorts that almost reached my knees. I wore a black tank top that showed my pale skin I also wore some brown flip-flops because it was hot today.

As i reached the park I saw the familiar park from my childhood, I still remember how the trees looked like they were dancing in the breeze and how you could hear the old swings moving slightly. The sunlight was reflecting off the red and blue striped slide, some of the colour was falling off since it was here while my parents were still children.

It really was a nice day till I heard a girl nearby who sound like she was in trouble. I walked in the direction I heard her from only to see a guy with a knife who was one head taller then me and I was 5'9 foot tall.

As I saw him grabbing the girl who was trying to get away my instincts kicked in and I threw a coke can at the guys head. That gave the girl a chance to run and get help.

The guy tried to go after her but I blocked his way and kicked him in the side. The guy growled at me and swang his knife at me but because I had a bit of self-defence training I managed to dodge some of his attacks.

He had cut my arms and my left cheek while I dodged and hit him. I was slowly running out of stamina from all the dodging when I tried to dodge an attack again I lost my balance and the guy took the opportunity to slash his knife at my face cutting across my eyes.

I remember hitting the hard ground and hearing distance yelling from the local police that the girl got but soon after I passed out and was brought to a hospital quickly to treat my eyes but sadly none of the doctors could do anything about them and I was told I would stay blind but was a hero for saving that girl and with my life changed.
