Dipper's (POV)

When I was in the lunch line, I saw the same boys from before glaring at me. I was about to just let it go when one of them spoke up.

"Hey Dipturd! I heard that were talking to Wendy earlier. You might as well give up on her now kid! A tenth grader like her would never date an 8th grader like you!" With that him and his friends left the lunch room. I wasn't sure what they meant though, I just see Wendy as a friend. Maybe they thought I liked her? Make sense. I was blushing when I talked to her, but it was only because I was afraid I would say the wrong thing.

I've never had a friend before, so how would I know what to say and what not to say? It was hard to think of the right words to describe how scared I was. When I finally got my lunch, I headed for the tables looking for Wendy.

"Hey Dipper, over here dude!" I turned and saw Wendy standing up waving at me. I wave back and make my way over to her. She smiles at me, and I smile back. I look around the table and saw what I hoped to be Wendy's friends. I looked over at Wendy, and she spoke up.

"Dipper, these are my friends." She pointed to a blonde boy and then a boy with tattoos.

"This is Lee and Nate." Nate punched Lee in the gut, making him laugh. Wendy then pointed to the purple haired girl I saw her with earlier that day.

"This is Tambry." Wendy pointed to a fat boy.

"Thompson, who once ate a run over waffle for 50 cents."

"Don't tell him that..." Thompson whined. Finally Wendy pointed to a black haired, goth boy.

"And Robbie, you can probably figure him out." I nod.

"Nice to meet all of you." Most of them smiled at me. I took that as a welcome wagon. But some of them looked at me like I was an alien. I gulped.

"So this is the kid that did your homework for you?" Robbie laughed.

"Pfft come on Robbie, he volunteered to help me, I never asked him to do it for me. Right Dipper?" I nodded. Robbie still gave me a nasty glare, I guess he just doesn't like me. At least the others seem to like me.

"Hey dude, why not sit down already?" I then realized I've been standing the whole time. I blushed.

"Um, where should I sit?" I asked still blushing.

"You can sit next to me." Wendy patted a seat next to her. I smiled and sat down next to her. But when I sat down, Robbie only looked angrier. When I was sitting next to Wendy during the whole period, it was liking sitting on egg shells. Robbie didn't do anything but shoot evil glares at me the whole time we were eating. When lunch was finally over, I was the first one to leave the table and throw my food away. Wendy and the others looked a little shocked by this. It was Wendy who went after me.

"Hey dude, what's the matter?" I turn to her.

"Sorry Wendy, I just... uhhhh..." Wendy stared at me as I thought of what to say. I bit my lip the whole time, I didn't want to worry her, so I choose my words carefully.

"I just... wanted to be the first one to class you know? If I get there first, I don't have to worry about the other kids tripping me on my way in, like they always do." Wendy nodded and I gave a sigh of relief.

"Why didn't you say so, dork? I know what's up when it comes to that stuff." She smiled.

"Now I know...hehe..." I said nervous. Wendy only giggled and went to her locker. I sigh again and went to my locker as well, and even through I wasn't really trying to, I was the first one to class. Well, I guess now I wasn't exactly lying to Wendy, right? I hope not.
