Dipper's (POV)

A few days after being grounded and being out of school, me and Mabel were visiting our Grunkle Stan for the weekend. He gave me and Mabel a bedroom in the attic since he didn't have a lot of rooms for us to sleep in. I didn't really care though, it was just nice to be away from home for the weekend after everything that happened the week before. I was unpacking my stuff in the attic room, along with Mabel when I heard her speak up.

"So how's it going with Wendy?" She asked.

"Pretty good, I think me and her have really bonded these past few days." I smile.

"It sounds like it. So when are you gonna tell her that you like her?" My eyes went wide.

"You... you knew?" Mabel smirks.

"Of course I knew bro-bro! It wasn't that hard to tell. After all, I know the signs when I see them." I sigh and roll my eyes.

"Please don't say anything to her, I want to tell her on my own."

"I promise, I won't say a thing to her."
I smiled and got into bed for the night. I thought to myself, what would be a good way to tell Wendy I liked her? I ended up falling asleep awhile I was trying to think. The next day rolled around, and like always, Mabel was up before me. I did my morning routine, and walked down stairs to the kitchen, where I see a whole bunch of party stuff all over the table. I raised an eye brow and spoke up.

"What's going on here?" I asked confused.

"Grunkle Stan is planning a party tomorrow, and he asked us to set everything up." Mabel smiled.  I nodded and sat down at the table.

"So what do you have in mind?"

"I was thinking, a disco ball, and streamers, and rocking music, and butt load of snacks and drinks!" I smiled at Mabel's excitement and then it hit me. What better way to tell Wendy how I feel, then with a dance?

"Hey Mabel, can you make sure that one of the songs you're gonna use is a slow song."

"Why bro-bro?"

"I'm thinking I could tell Wendy how much I like her, with a slow dance." Mabel's smile grew fast.

"Oh Dipper, that's a great idea!" Mabel hugged me tight around the waist.

"Thanks Mabel." I decided to go and look for Wendy and ask her to come to the party. I would have waited until Monday, but with the party being just a day away I thought I should tell her about it right away. Lucky for me, Grunkle Stan's house was a few minutes away from Wendy's house. I got out one of the Shack's carts, and was about to drive to Wendy's house, until I saw her walking up the drive way. She saw me, and waved.

"Hey Dipper, what are you doing here?" I get out of the cart and walk up to her.

"I'm visiting my Grunkle Stan for the weekend, what are you doing here?"

"I work here now. Stan gave me a job last week as his new cashier." I smack my head.

"So I'm guessing that means you know about the party he's throwing tomorrow right?" She nods.

"So would you mind going to the party with me?" Wendy smiled.

"There's nothing I would like more. Well besides a large pay check from your cheapskate great uncle." I laugh at her joke, and we both walk in side to prepare for the party. We spent most of the day working out the plans of the party, and what to put where. The whole time I thought to myself, I got one shot at this, don't screw this up. I just hope I listen to myself.
