AN//: Hey guys and gals! Sorry for such a long wait on this update. I was going through some stuff with friends, so writing much of anything had been kinda tough. Anyways... The context for this one is based around a roleplay I am doing with my friend Alex! It's basically young Hanzo and gambler McCree... but the little twist is that Hanzo is a stripper lmao. Fun stuff... XD If that kind of context makes you uncomfortable then you may not want to read this. There won't be anything explicitly sexual in this one though. Enjoy!

Jesse walked down the hallway of the apartment complex Hanzo had told him he lived in, humming to himself, and glancing around at the little signs on the doors that labeled the apartments with their respectable numbers. This was the first time Jesse would be seeing the other at home... It was kind of odd in a sense. He couldn't place why... Maybe it was just because he was so used to seeing Hanzo in a loud club full of other people...
The gambler was almost to Hanzo's apartment when he heard some shouting. His eyes shifted to look down the hall to see a door burst open and a guy to be shoved out of one of the apartments followed by none other than Hanzo Shimada himself.
"I am sick of your bull shit you no good excuse of a man! I do not want to see your disgusting face anywhere near me anymore you fucking asshole! Get away! I am done!" The dancer snarled, shoving the man down the hall again.
Said man glared at Hanzo and raised a hand like he was about to hit him until he saw Jesse. Apparently he decided against hitting the dancer and only growled a "fuck you" before turning away and stomping down the hall furiously.
Hanzo brushed some of his hair out of his face with an indignant huff, watching the man leave for a moment before turning to walk into his apartment again. He finally noticed Jesse, and his eyes widened in surprise. "Jesse... Hi..." He said, sounding rather uneasy. He glanced down the hall in the direction of the other man before looking back to the gambler. "Uhm... Please, come in..." He said, walking into his apartment and gesturing for Jesse to follow.
Jesse chuckled softly and nodded before following the younger male into the apartment, pulling the door shut behind himself. "Who was your other guest?" He asked. It was maybe unfair of him to be jealous that Hanzo had another person here, but he didn't really worry himself over it too much. Obviously Hanzo wasn't very friendly with the other man...
"I figured you would ask that..." Hanzo sighed, walking into the small kitchen. "That was just my asshole ex boyfriend... Nothing to worry about..." He shrugged, pulling the fridge open and pulling some sort of fruit punch out.
"He looked like he was about to hit ya, Han. I feel like I do have somethin' to worry 'bout." Jesse frowned, taking his shoes off at the door and walking into the kitchen as well. He sat himself down at the small, round table placed a little off to the side.
"It would not have been the first time... Do you want something to drink?" The dancer replied as he got himself a glass, and slid a bottle over to himself that looked very suspiciously like vodka.
"Don't change the subject on me, Hanzo. He was abusive to ya? Why wouldn't ya tell me? When did y'all break up?" Jesse asked, pressing for answers. He wasn't trying to upset Hanzo with continuing to talk about something he clearly didn't want to talk about, but he needed answers. He wanted Hanzo to be safe.
"I will change the subject if I damn well please, Jesse. Do not make me talk about this. Now, do you want a drink or not? Because I sure as hell do." Hanzo replied, that same growl edging his words that Jesse had heard when the younger was talking to his ex moments before.
Jesse was stunned silent for a moment. Hanzo had never spoken to him like that before, and he had never gotten so defensive so quickly like that. The gambler decided to back off a little. "Yeah I'll have whatever is in that bottle there..." He said, clenching his teeth a little and sighing.
Hanzo didn't reply as he put ice into the glass then poured the fruit punch into the glass, adding the alcohol in with it. He took another glass out of the cabinet above him and added ice as well before he poured only the alcohol into it then picking up both glasses and walking over to Jesse. He sat down across from him, sliding his glass over to him. He was silent for a few more minutes before he spoke again. "I did not mean to snap at you, but my ex is not something I want to talk about." He murmured, taking a tentative sip of his cocktail. He wouldn't look up at the elder male sitting across from him.
Jesse nodded slowly, taking a drink of the alcohol Hanzo had given him. "'M sorry for pressin' ya for answers... but I just don't want ya being hurt. I do care about ya, darlin'." He replied, reaching across the table to gently brush his fingers over Hanzo's knuckles.
The dancer only nodded slowly, his eyes following the movement of Jesse's hand. He sighed, his eyes falling closed for a moment. "I know... Maybe I will speak with you about it some other time, but now is not suitable."
"Alright. Take yer time with that, sweetheart." The gambler nodded, pulling his hand away from Hanzo's only for it to be gently gripped by the younger and held there."Thank you." He said softly, looking up at Jesse finally. His gaze was somber and tired... Jesse felt bad for him... He had never seen the dancer so stressed or worked up.
"Ya don't have to thank me for being a decent man, sugar." The gambler chuckled, lacing his fingers with Hanzo's.
"Maybe not, but that is not what I am thanking you for." Hanzo replied simply."What're ya thanking me for then?" Jesse asked, taking from his glass.
Hanzo was silent for a moment before shrugging. "Maybe I will tell you that later on too."
"Aw... C'mon now, sweetheart, that just ain't fair!" Jesse laughed a little.
Finally he had managed to get a little smile onto the dancer's lips. "The fact that you showed up early, and now I have to let you see me in an old t-shirt and sweatpants is not fair, but you do not see me complaining." He countered."Well you make an old t-shirt and sweatpants look damn good, sugar." The gambler flirted, winking at Hanzo with a smirk.
"You are a ridiculous man..." The dancer sighed.
