“Bruv she handled you nicely!” Lloyd said laughing

“Shut up Fam.” I said as I tried to stand up straight

“Listen man’s gotta bounce get at me on bb, oh and good luck wid your sket.” He said as he spudded me then bopped down the road. After 10 minutes the bus came, I got on it and sat upstairs at the back (coz I’m G). The bus came to Neah’s stop; she got on and sat 2 seats in front of me. It was time for us to get off the bus so we went downstairs and got off; we walked in silence side by side with a meter distance. We walked into reception and signed ourselves in then went to our second lesson that had just begun.

Second lesson was history hate this lesson with a passion.

“Alright we are starting a new topic today…. The slave trade, can anyone tell me anything about the slave trade?” Our history teacher asked the class.

Silence.

“Well then I guess we’re going to have to start from the basics then. Black people were known as white people’s ‘slaves’ back in the day, I’m sure all of you have heard of the story of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King. Slave trade was really important back in the day to white and black people, in small groups I want you to discuss if you think slave trade was right and give reasons for your answers.” Sir said, within seconds the whole room irrupted with discussions.

“Well I think that the slave trade was right black people were… I mean ARE useless. All they can do is cook and clean that’s why they were known as slaves and I think that they should bring it back for good.” A mixed race girl called Kerry said

“In case you haven’t noticed Kerry black people are more talented and skilful than white people, I mean what can ya’ll do? You can’t discipline your children for starters; all ya’ll can cook is beans on toast with some spaghetti hoops on the side. Whereas black people discipline their children from the day he/she comes out of the woman’s V-JJ & don’t even make me start on what we can cook….” Ola said (Ghanaian). Everyone in our group was laughing and giggling.

“Hold up Kerry I swear your MIXED race?” Someone said

“Yeah and…?” Kerry replied

“You’ve got black in you, how you gonna par your own colour off like that.”

“Get lost man” Kerry said looking annoyed.

Time flew past quick it was time for break.

“Baby!” Rihanna shouted as she ran into my arms.

“You alright baby?” I asked her as I hugged her

“Yeah where were you this morning?”

“I woke up late babe.” I lied

“Ohh but I saw you come school with that Neah girl.” She said with a raised eyebrow

“Yeah and…?”

“Why you coming into school with her if you woke up late?”

“Listen Rihanna I aint in the mood right now so can we drop this and talk about it later?” I asked her getting ready to walk away.

“No we can’t drop it why were you with her this morning?” She asked me yet again even though I told her we could talk about it later. I looked her up and down then kissed my teeth and walked away #Dumb bitch!
