Chapter 3

Caroline's P.O.V

"Hey Katherine!" I called out to her as I tried to find her.

"What do you want, Caroline?" Katherine asked while holding in a sniffle.

"I just wanted to make sure you're okay, and to say that I'm sorry for what I said." I said while looking at her with sympathy. "It must be hard always having to look behind your back just because you always put yourself before others even though that is a human and vampire instinct."

"It's not hard, Caroline." She said, exasperated. "What's hard or annoying is when everyone around you doesn't get what you're doing, they always think you have a motive and yes, I do but sometimes I don't and I'm sick of running around, trying to gain everyone's trust because it's tiring!"

"Look, I understand what you're saying and I just wanted to say that you have me." I said warily.

She looked at me shocked, "wait, what?"

"You heard me, I'll trust you and you can trust me but the minute you break my trust it's over. This is your second chance Katherine don't ruin it." I said as I was getting up to leave. "Oh and thanks for turning me into a vampire" I said while winking and then vamp sped away.

Third person (At the house when Caroline left)

"That was weird." Elena said.

"You got that right!" Bonnie exclaimed.

"Enough of Caroline and Katerina, does anyone have an actual plan?" Rebekah exclaimed.

"Well sister, I've been thinking, we need everyone to stay protected which means we need to all sleep under one roof." Elijah said while deep in thought.

Everyone started to talk at once.

"What, are you kidding me?" Matt asked while Damon was getting a cup of bourbon and drinking it down.

"Get me one too Damon!" Stefan asked while rubbing his temples.

"You'll probably kill us by morning!" Tyler said genuinely freaked out.

"He's got a point brother!" Klaus added while eyeing Tyler.

"Everyone ENOUGH!" Elijah yelled trying to get everyone to focus and at that point Caroline walked in through the front doors and not too long after, Katherine.

"Woah, what'd we miss?" Katherine asked whilst looking around.

"Oh you know, same old same old, Elijah thinks we should live together" Damon replied while sipping his bourbon.

"You can't be serious? You're whole family wants me dead!" Katherine said while looking at Elijah with questioning eyes.

"And if they try, they'll have to go through me first." Caroline added gaining shocked looks from everyone including a raised eyebrow from Klaus.

"Well lovely you guys are all chummy, now Elijah" Damon said while gesturing "please, go on."

"Thank you damon. Now since there are twelve of us, four originals, six vampires, one being a hybrid, two humans, one being a witch we need to split up, six in each house hold. Two originals, three vampires and one human each living either here or at the Mikealson manor." Elijah said while looking around watching everyone's reactions. "Now since Niklaus is most likely to rip anyone's head off he can choose first and he will be paired with Rebekah at the Mikealson manor."

"Thanks, brother" Kol said sarcastically.

"Okay, well I guess Caroline.."

"Now wasn't that obvious, be careful brother people might actually think you care" Kol said while winking at Klaus.

"Anyways.." Klaus continued while shooting daggers at Kol, "Caroline and Stefan, Rebekah can choose the others."

"Matt, since we'll have Nik you'll need a witch and I don't mind the other vampire so, Elijah, Kol choose and we'll have the remainder." Rebekah said while eyeing everyone.

"Good point sister, obviously Bennett witch, Katerina so Niklaus doesn't kill her, Damon as he is the owner and Tyler so he doesn't die, yet" Kol ended while winking.

"Okay, it's settled then. Elena, Caroline, Stefan and Matt you'll go with Niklaus and Rebekah. I suggest you go home and pack a bag and Caroline do not tell your mother anything that may harm her just that you're staying at friends. Now, Damon, Tyler, Katerina, Miss Bennett, Kol and I will be staying here so I suggest you pack a bag. It's 2:30pm now so everyone should be at their new residence by 5, that gives everyone two and half hours to explain to parents or bosses or whatever why you won't be there. We don't know how long it'll be but it could be a few months so be prepared." Elijah said ordering everyone. At that, everyone but the Salvatore's and Elena left.

"Do you think we can trust them?" Elena asked the brothers while staring at the fire.

"I don't think we have a choice and Elijah has always kept his word plus Klaus wouldn't have let anyone stay in his home if he didn't nor would they live here." Stefan reasoned.
