Ashlie
My head was spinning in dizzy circles and my whole body hurt. I couldn't think straight from all the sudden pain and confusion that was flooding my senses. With a huge, pained groan I opened my eyes and sat up slowly. My red hair was a mess, and my pink bow was threatening to fall off of my hair. My shirt, including one of the stars on it, was stained with sticky blood, which made me feel uncomfortable.
I sighed and stood up, cradling my head in one hand. As I began to look around, I began to realize that I was in a big castle. My heart pounded as the unfamiliar stone walls met my eyes, and I started to breathe heavily. Every breath I took sent a burst of pain through my aching body.
There was nothing in the room besides a few generators. Dazed and confused, I started to walk around at a strained limp. It only took me a few painfully scared moments to realize that I wasn't completely alone.
The nearest person to me was crumpled up on the floor. I bent down to him cautiously and started to size him up. He was a boy with tan skin, dirty blonde hair, and a unicorn onesie. Perched on his nose were cracked glasses that dangled at an awkward angle. I don't know how, but I was able to see what looked like a gamertag above his head. It read NewScapePro, which was something unfamiliar to me.
"That's odd," I whispered to myself, walking over to the next person. It was another boy, but one who looked slightly different different. He had jet black hair and a dark blue hoodie that was ripped near the bottom. His jacket was unzipped near his collarbones, revealing a black shirt. He also had sun kissed skin and broken glasses, but his tag read Zres.
"What's going on? I don't know anybody here. Why are their names so strange?" I asked softly, trying not to wake anybody. "This is weird."
I started over to the next person who was, once again, male. Half of his hair was a light blue, while the other was simply black. He seemed to have a dark choker tied around his neck and was dressed like a schoolgirl, purple skirt and all.
"What kind of kinky shit is this?" A groan pressed out of my chest, making my tired lungs rattle. Nothing was making sense. "Where am I?"
This guy's gamertag read UNiCOMICS. I blinked, scrubbed a hand across my face, and willed everything to go away. It was a disappoint when I opened my eyes to find that everything was still there in front of me.
I made my way over to another boy, who was spread out on his back. He also had messy, dirty blonde hair like the first guy, but I couldn't see this one's face. There was an emoji mask covering his entire face that was a shade of yellow. He had the name TheFrozenGargon.
I raised my eyebrows in confusion and hurried over to the last kid who was, surprise, also a boy. He had bright green hair and was dressed like a jester from the medieval ages. His name read _JonJon_.
I sighed and took a few unsteady steps away from his unconscious form. Absolutely nothing was making any kind of sense anymore. When I had last been awake, I certainly wasn't in or near any sort of castle. There was no logic or reason to any of this at all.
All of the sudden, a note appeared beside me. It had clear, blocky writing on it that stood out like a sore thumb. I scooped it up and began to read it with weary eyes.
Good morning, Ashlie9596,
Your teammates should be waking up soon. If you look up, then you'll see that the castle roof is a certain color. Your color means that you're on Team Cyan. There are 5 other teams, which are Green, Yellow, Blue, Gray, and Orange.
Six teams came into this battle, but only one will make it out alive. You can either fight for your life, or accept your death. However, you won't fully die as long as you have your egg. Protect that egg and you'll be fine, but let it go and you'll perish. Gold and iron can buy you supplies, but the most valuable source of money are diamonds and emeralds. You can purchase items from the villager on your left.
Good luck, brave warlock.
Signed, UnknownMy hands became slick with sweat as I finished looking over the words. If the letter was right, which, judging by the ceiling, it seemed to be, then I could die. My entire body felt as heavy as lead, making me feel as if I could sink into the floor, and I wanted to disappear.
I began to look around with a desperate sigh, trying to find a way out. Instead, after a split second decision, I went over to the generators. One of them had at least 50 pieces of iron, which could prove useful. I grabbed them hungrily and raced over to the villager, who was standing inconspicuously to the side, asking what I could buy.
My heart sank as disgruntled words began to stream out of his mouth, and my hands felt shaky. According to him, I apparently couldn't buy much of anything yet. I swallowed hard and went to sit dejectedly near the generator, grabbing the iron as it came in bursts.
Boredom overcame me in waves as I plucked the money out of the machine, and my thoughts started to swirl in my head. I had always been kind of a loner, so why would I even need a team? They would honestly just drag me down and, by the looks of it, embarrass me. If this was truly a game of life or death, then I didn't need a group of strangely named men crowding around me like drooling sheep.
"No, I'll be much better on my own," I say stubbornly, leaning my head against the generator. "Nothing's going to stop me from staying alive."

A few hours had passed of me drifting in and out of my thoughts. I had made a habit of collecting my iron and waiting for the villager's trades. It was a boring, slow process, but at least one that I could do without a whole lot of thought and energy.
My collection of traded objects had amounted to six pork chops, a full set of brand new leather armor, and a stone sword with a comfortable hilt. I had begun to swing the sword lazily through the air in an attempt to keep my mind off of things, but it wasn't working. Every little noise was setting me on edge, causing my mind to race constantly. It was the most paranoid I had been in a long time.
Everything was finally starting to sink in. My eyes swept the perimeter of the quiet building constantly, trying to scope out any moving form, but it was no use. Nobody, not even the villager, had really moved an inch. I was the only animated creature in this lonely castle.
I was starting to wonder if I should go check outside when it happened. A voice rang through the air like a gunshot, startling me out of my dazed state.
"Who are you?"
