Twelve: Smack Talk Get Back Talk

I rushed down the stairs, but stopped once I heard voices. "You're awesome with the bow, Cory!!" I heard JonJon compliment Cory. "Thanks. This whole team is awesome! I think we have a little system going! All five of us!" Five? There's six of us. I stepped down the stairs, making sure I was seen. "Cory? There's six members of the team. I.....you meant six, right?" I asked, silently praying he meant six. He looked me dead in my eyes, his green eyes filled with pity and seriousness. "Tom, no offense, but you dont really do anything," he said.

Those words hit me hard. I felt like I was just stabbed with a hundred knives all at once. "I.....was gonna be a comedian, and I.....I-" I was cut off by Ashlie. "A comedian?! Seriously, Tommy?! We dont need a comedian we need a fighter! Life isnt a joke, Tommy! Get your head out of your ass and understand that!" She yelled. That hurt even more. "I-I thought it would have an emotional outcome of how we fight, and I....I-" this time, I was cut off by Nick. "Ashlie's right, Tommy, we dont need a comedian,"

I looked at Jon. He looked away. I began to cry. Then. I began to laugh. "Are you serious?! You're all so stupid! Cory didn't even leave the base once, only to have a fit like a FUCKING CHILD! Ashlie thinks she's this high, mighty queen just because she's the only girl and her ego is drowning her! Nick, you shithead, you agree with everyone cause you CAN'T DO ANYTHING ELSE! And Jon!" Jon looked at me, fear in his eyes of what Id say next. "You're just a fucking baby who wastes all of our money on stupid shit for yourself."

I said. "I swear, Uni is the only one with a goddamn brain! Uni is the only one whos nice, whos putting any effort into trying to get thus team organized so we can actually work as a team! But nope! You fucktards dont KNOW THE MEANING OF 'TEAMWORK'!!" I yelled, now sobbing. I walked up the stairs, their words replaying in my head. It was clear Uni heard what happened, because he didn't make an effort to comfort me. He gave me some alone time. I walked out onto the balcony and cried. They think I dont do anything? Fine.

From this day forward, I promise to myself, I WILL NEVER HELP THIS SORRY EXCUSE FOR A TEAM EVER AGAIN.
