Iris' POV~
Once we arrived at Richard's house, I prayed to God that it was five o'clock.
"Richard, what's the time?" I asked.
"Um hold on, let me check," he told me, before looking down at his watch. "It's two minutes passed five."
"Okay thanks!" I exclaimed, suddenly excited. Pulling the car door open, I headed towards the front door. "Come on slow poke!" I yelled over my shoulder at Richard who was still next to the limo.
"I'm coming!" he yelled, now racing down the pathway towards me.
Once we we're both at the front door, I made sure to knock on the door really loudly for the whole house to hear, telling Sara, Richard and I were home.
"Iris, you don't have to knock, I have the key," he said, pulling out a shiny sliver key out of his right pocket.
Well of course I knew that, it was his house after all, but this was our little code to let Sara know we're home. "Oh... I forgot," I said, blushing slightly, hoping Richard would fall for it.
"It's okay, let's head inside," he said giving me a small smile. Putting the key in the lock, twisting it, Richard turned the knob slowly, pushing the door open.
Richard went in first, going to the living room, while I followed right behind, looking out for any kind of noise. Sara said the party would be in the big ballroom Richard had, but where is that exactly?
"Want a drink?" Richard asked, his voice coming from the kitchen.
"Um, sure..." I answered, while I kept searching around for the Ballroom.
Now if I were a ballroom, where would I be located? Let's see, I know it's not upstairs, since that's where all the bathrooms, Richard's office, and the many - many bedrooms are located. So, that means it has to be located passed the living room, at the end of the really long hallway.
"Iris!" someone suddenly yelled.
Turning back around, I saw Richard standing in front of me, holding a glass of orange juice in his right hand.
"Yeah?" I asked. I guess I was so absorbed in trying to find the ballroom, I didn't hear Richard coming.
"Your drink," he said, placing the drink in my right hand.
"Thanks." Giving Richard a bright smile, I took a big gulp of it, downing down the whole glass.
"Now, before I was saying, I'm going upstairs to work a little bit, so if you want anything, I'll be in my office," he said, before heading towards the stairs.
"Wait!" I called, grabbing his wrist, pulling him back.
"Yes?" Richard asked, looking slightly confused.
"I was wondering if you would come with me for a second."
"To?"
"To the, um... to the ballroom!"
"Why?"
"Because...um..." Great! What do I say? Oh wait I know! "Because I need to show you something."
"Really now?" he asked raising his eyebrow. "And what would that be?" Richard asked, crossing his arms across his chest, waiting for my answer.
That's a good question! If only I had an answer for that...think Iris think! "For your present!" I yelled after a few minutes.
"My present?" he asked taken by surprise. "How did you know my birthday was today?"
"Sara told me."
