Iris' POV~
A week has passed since I saw Richard kissing Molly. She's been staying at Richard's house, and refuses to leave. Saying things like, 'I'm staying with my love' or 'this is going to be my house anyways'. Yup, she's gone crazy. Since then, Richard has avoid coming home at all cost, unless Molly wasn't here; which usually never happens.
But at least I know once and for all Richard does still have feelings for me, and hasn't moved on. And, yes, I admit, I like him as well.
He doesn't exactly know I like him back, but that's mostly because I haven't exactly gotten the time to tell him. Plus, we can't exactly be together; not with his so-call 'finace' around.
'And there's the four-year-age difference thing,' my inner voice screamed at me. 'People will never accept you guys together.'
Ignoring that little detail, my eyes dropped, as I went back to staring at the wall blankly.
"You know, I'm not invisible."
My ears perked up at the sound of his voice. "I'm sorry." I grimaced.
He chuckled, throwing his head back in laughter. "It's okay, just don't stare at the wall."
I hung my head low, running my hands through my blonde locks. "Sorry, I guess I just got a lot on my mind right now."
He wrapped his arms around my shoulder pulling me in, rubbing my hair. "I know. Richard, right?"
I looked up, staring at blue-green eyes. "Yeah . . ."
He put on a big smile, hoping I would smile too. "Cheer up, he'll come around soon."
I shook my head. "No, he won't. He hasn't been home for five days. He's always locked up in his office now," I mumbled sadly.
"That's because he's trying to figure out where Molly came from," Shane assured me, patting my back.
"I know, but he could have at least call me . . . " I drifted off, my eyes automatically landing on the line phone Richard set up in my room.
"He will." He sounded so sure of himself, but we all know he's not going to call anytime soon.
Silence filled the room; Shane playing with my hair, and me laying on his lap. A few minutes went by before he decided to break it, his eyes lighting up in happiness. "Hey! Why don't we play Mario Kart?"
I looked up at him in confusion. "Mario Kart?"
He nodded eagerly. "Yeah, you used to love it when you were a kid, right?"
"Yeah, a kid. I haven't exactly played in a few years . . ." The last time I remember playing that game was when I was thirteen, before I got bored of it.
He pouted, his eyes watering. "Please?" he begged, getting all in my face.
"Fine," I sighed, giving in. "Just go get the game."
"Yay!" he cheered, pumping his fist up in victory. "I'll be right back," he said, before moving me off his lap, placing me against my bed, and leaving.
At least three minutes has gone by, when I heard the quiet footsteps pounding by my closed door.
Shane? It couldn't haven't been right? Usually he takes at least ten minutes, searching for his games, controllers, and the game device.
