Claire's POV
I sit by the fire as Bombur gets ready to cook dinner. Thorin, Kili and Fili had gone to hunt for food for Bombur to cook. I sigh, thinking to myself. I hear footsteps walking towards me and I look up to see Sarah, Thorin's wife. She smiles softly at me and sits beside. "What's troubling you?" I sigh. "Fili..." She looks at me confused. "What has he done to make you so sad poor dwelf?" I look at my hands. "Nothing... I really like him but... I know he will never like me back..." I hear a soft gasp. "Don't say that." I look at her. "It's true! I don't have a chance with him. He is a dwarf and I am a Dwelf! Thorin was very unhappy with me joining the Company. How will he react if his heir was to fall for a dwelf?"
~~~Flashback~~~
I sit, back against a rock, tired from the long journey. The weather was cold and all my muscles had locked up. I hear footsteps and I look up to see Fili walking over with two bowls of soup. "Hey cutie, want some soup?" I nod and he hands it to me, as I take it from him. He sits beside me and I take small sips. After I finish my soup, I sit the empty bowl beside me and I turn to Fili, trying not to blush and how handsome he looks. Fili turns to me and hands me to a rose. "You are more beautiful than this flower." I take it and I try to hold my feelings in. "Thank you." I smell it, smile softly and I sit it beside me, looking up into the starry sky.
I hear him clear his throat. "Wanna go for a walk cutie? We could tell each other secrets~" He winks at me. I blush. "No thank you Fili... It's a cold night." I see his smile drop. "Oh... Of course... I better go and help Kili..." He stands and walks over to Kili. I hear a voice in the back of my head 'Why did you do that?! You could have spent time with Fili! The one you love!!' I shake my head. 'No... He doesn't like me like that!' I sigh. I look over to see Kili place a hand on Fili's shoulder and talk to him on the other side of camp.

I sigh. "Everything will turn out great! I promise!" She is about to say something else when a voice calls out. "Sarah! Come here." We turn and see Thorin walking over with some food. (cant really tell what animal it was, must of fought hard against Thorin, Kili and Fili, resulting in it's body being mangled.) Sarah stands and walks over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. He wraps an arm around her and leans down. Placing a soft kiss against her lips. I aww softly at the loving sight and I mumble. "I hope I have a love like theirs."

Fili's POV
I walk over to my bedroll and I lay down, after eating and I sigh. Kili stands over me. "What's wrong? Is it about... Her?" I nod slowly and I sigh again. "She seems like she doesn't like..." Kili frowns at me. I sit up. "Kili... I need your help..." He smiles. "You want me to talk to her right?" I nod. Kili smiles more and nods. "I'll do it! Later though." I smile brightly. "Thank you Kili!" He walks off and I lay back down, smiling. I think of the dwelf, her blonde curly hair, sparkling blue eyes. I love how she is smaller than me, even if she is half elf, and how beautiful she is. I look over at her, thinking of how much I wanna braid her hair and put my bead in it.

Claire's POV
It is late and I can't sleep. I hear a soft whisper "Claire". I look up to see Kili signalling me over. I walk over to him and I sit beside him, "yes?" He smiles and whispers. "I need to tell you something..." I watch. "What?" He looks around. "Fili is in love with you!" I gasp. "No... I don't believe you... This is some sort of prank!" Kili frowns. "No... Wait..." I stand and I stop back to my bed. I sit down and I look around to see if I woke anyone. I see Sarah roll over and Thorin pulls her to his chest. I aww and I lay down and slowly I drift to sleep.
The next morning, Thorin woke us up at the break of dawn. While everyone was packing their stuff and jumping onto their ponies, I keep glancing back at Thorin and Sarah thinking, 'What would it be like to have a love like that?'. I smile and I jump on my pony. We head off. I listen to Bilbo talk about his life in the Shire, very interested, when I notice Kili and Fili whispering to each other. "What was your home like Claire?" I look at him. "Well..." I was cut short. "Sorry Bilbo, I need to say something to Claire, you can have her back in a minute." I turn to see Fili, when he suddenly leans in a kisses me on the lips. I sit there, frozen, until I kiss back softly. He pulls away and smiles. "I love you Claire..." I blush badly, unable to say a word. He winks and trots ahead to Kili.
