Ice's POV

*BEEP!* *BEEP*

I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm clock. I was staying in an apartment and was about to check myself out. I was given the chance to stay at my school's dormitory for free so there was no point of me staying at that apartment.

I groaned as I stood up and proceeded towards the bathroom and had a short bath. The water was ice cold but I still felt refreshed when I got out of the bath. I dried myself with a towel and checked the time. I was shocked to see that it was already a quarter to 6AM.

"Oh jeez! I'm almost late." I spoke to myself as I hurried along with my morning schedule.

I swiftly ran to my closet and put my clothes on, which consisted of a long-sleeved sweatshirt and a pair of trousers. Along with it, I wore my hat which had an ice symbol on it. I carefully put the hat on my head, remembering the first time I ever held it. My grandmother had awarded it to me when I ranked first in my class a couple years ago. I smiled as I ran towards my fridge.

I took a piece of bread, stuffed it in my mouth and ran out my apartment. I checked out of my apartment and ran towards the school, which was thankfully only a couple blocks away.

"I only have around 10 minutes left." I mumbled to myself as I checked the time on my watch.

While I was checking the time, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. Due to that, I accidentally bumped into someone causing me to trip and land on cold hard ground.

I didn't have time to apologize so I ignored the guy I bumped into and ran as fast as I could. I didn't want to be late on my very first day of school. As I ignored the person I bumped into, I heard him faintly say, "sorry". I bit my lip. I felt guilty but I knew I couldn't waste my time apologizing.

I soon arrived at High-Fed Academy. I entered the school premises and was greeted by a guy about my age.

"Hello, are you Ice?" The guy asked me politely, grinning from ear to ear. He held out his hand. "I'm Earthquake, the guy who will be guiding you to your room. The teachers instructed me to wait for you."

"Yes, I am Ice. Thank you for waiting for me." I replied, grabbing his hand and shaking it.

"Well then, come with me." He smiled, gesturing for me to follow him.

I followed Earthquake around the campus. It was huge and I was sure I would get lost if he weren't here. I was silent the entire walk.

We arrived at the classroom and I was astonished to see how good it looked. The schools I have gone to were never this expensive so it was my first time ever seeing a room that was well-built. It was a wide, clean and air-conditioned area.

Earthquake let go of my arm and walked to the teacher's table.

"Go get a seat for yourself." He requested me, pointing at the seats at the back. "Those seats at the back are empty."

I walked over to where Earthquake pointed and observed that there were 2 seats beside each other in the back.

"I hope I get seated next to a quiet and shy guy like me." I thought to myself as I took the seat to the left and positioned my bag at the back. A few students stared at me and I presumed that they did that because I was a new face. It made me uncomfortable knowing a lot of people were looking at me so I lowered my cap to cover my face.

~

It's been a few minutes and the class turned into a noisy room. I was keeping my eyes straight on my desk because I didn't want to engage in eye contact with another individual. Suddenly, the noise disappeared and I could hear footsteps coming in.

I pushed my cap upwards to see who was coming. My teacher had entered the room.

"Good morning, class." She greeted with a stern voice.

"Good morning, Miss Brit!" Everyone greeted back.

I could hear a few murmurs and gossips as we did the greeting so I assumed that my class wasn't a big fan of Miss Brit.

"Please sit." She ordered.

We all sat silently and quickly. Miss Brit pulled out her Math Book.

"Open your math textbooks to page 4-7. Write your answers on a separate paper." She hastily demanded us as she sat on her chair. "This is just a short pre-test for all of you. If you're finished, come here and I'll check it."

I opened my textbook and realized that it was basic trigonometry. I spent some time solving the questions and soon finished a couple minutes later. I stood up and gave Miss Brit my answer sheet.

Everyone stared at me in disbelief. "How did he solve it that fast?" A guy muttered as he furrowed his eyebrows.

Ms. Brit checked the paper. A grin appeared on her face. She mumbled, signing the paper with a 100%, "Good job. I see you have prior knowledge on our lessons."

I smiled at my teacher as I took my paper and got back in my seat. Within a few minutes, each student had passed their papers. Due to this, the room became noisy. I heard people murmuring in their seats. "Why aren't we dismissed yet? Is it because of that new brat?"

Miss Brit pursed her lips as she yelled to the class. "As you all know, we have a new student here with us. I'd like him to introduce himself so please come up here, dear."

I nodded and walked to the front of the class. I was nervous and embarrassed at the same time. I cleared my throat before I spoke, "Good Day, ever-"

The classroom door swung open. "Sorry! I'm late!" A slightly taller boy yelled. He was at the door, gasping for air.

"Mister Blaze, where have you been all this time?" Miss Brit strictly and angrily asked.

"I'm so sorry miss, it's just that I forgot something important at home so I had to run back to get it." The boy named Blaze responded.

"Hmm, you're forgiven but next time, you'll get marked." She cautiously scolded him. "Go to your seat."

The only empty seat was the one beside mine so he sat there and rested his  bag beside mine.

I sighed as I continued talking,

"Good day, everyone! My name is Ice and I enrolled at this school because of a scholarship I received. I would describe myself as a quiet and diligent boy." I introduced myself as I smiled at my classmates.
