Pluto x Reader

chap 15.

Once it started to rain and everybody was asleep which included Pluto, I couldn't help but ponder. This is nothing but usual for me at night when someone important to me performs a big gesture just to be with me. It just happens and it leaves me with nothing but unanswered questions inside my head leaving me able to stare at something and lifelessly zone out, way in my head. I look over to the hound on my left curled up in the blankets in a position that would only come to me as uncomfortable.

I finally decide to get up, trying hard to not make a single sound.
I leave the room in hope of somebody else being awake for atleast some sort of conversation because deep in my head is the last safe place I could be.

In luck, I spot a demon butler and a blonde teen from upstairs. I look closely and see that Alois was laying down on the couch near the window, sleeping while his butler sits near him caressing his hair. Its very obvious that Claude doesn't enjoy being Alois' butler but now it all seems different. He seems.. Softer, when all alone. I walk downstairs hoping for some quick acknowledgement.

Which was what I got.

"(Y/N)..? What are you doing up? It's past midnight." He asked.

"I can't sleep. Is everything okay with him?" I asked, pointing at the boy on his lap.

"Yes, everything is fine. He just gets frightened at times.. You should try and get some shut eye before it's too late, (Y/N)." The demon looked down again and continued stroking the blonde's soft hair as if he was finished talking to me.

"You're right. Well.. goodnight." I mumbled and found my way back to my bedroom.

Whereas, I entered silently, trying not to wake the deeply sleeping Pluto. I sneaked inside the bathroom where I splashed a little amount of water on my face, and shortly returning to bed next to my loved one.

I turned, tossed, even counted to hundreds but nothing seemed to work. Pluto kept on waking up because of me so he finally took me into his arms and held me until I was finally sound asleep.

I didn't get that much shut eye, but the little sleep I got was worth it.
