Hilda walked through Lostlorn Forrest, her nose buried deep in her Pokédex. She was checking the stats of her new Pokémon: an Oshawott. She had received it as an egg from the daycare, and she and her Samurott, Ghost, (who is not in any way related to the little Oshawott) had been caring for it.

Currently, she was traveling around the forested center of the region, but she was planning on heading to the city area. She could never stay in one area too long. It just wasn't in her nature. Besides, she had been cooped up in Nuvema Town for so long that when, a little over a year ago, an adventure had been shoved in her face, she took it and never looked back. Ok, maybe she had been back once or twice to see the professor and say hello to her mom, but that was it. As she said to her mom: "Let's face it, I'm a free-spirit. I wander where I like, and never settle." Hilda's mom didn't seem to mind, though. Whatever kept her daughter happy.

Hilda was lost, deep in thought, when suddenly Oshawott popped out of its Pokéball.

"Oh, hi Oshy!" She said.

Oshawott glared up at her.

"Oops," Hilda giggled. "I forgot you hate it when I call you that."

Oshawott looked away from her and muttered something under its breath.

Hilda brushed it off and looked back at her Pokédex.

"We'll be back in Nimbassa City soon." Hilda said, turning to look at Oshawott. "Isn't that great? Maybe you can preform in a musical!"

Oshawott growled.

Unlike Ghost, who was nice and pretty laid back and would have jumped at the chance to be in a musical, Oshawott was grumpy and didn't like crowds.

Hilda sighed. "No musical then? I was really looking forward to it, too..."

They walked along in silence for awhile.

"Hey! Look at that Oshy! It's Nimbasa City!" Hilda yelled, excited. She then ran all the way to the edge of the forest and flung her arms open wide. "Ahh, the city." She breathed. "Just how I remember it."

Oshawott scowled and tried to communicate that they had just been there, but Hilda only giggled.

"Oh, come on Oshy, I can't exaggerate even a little?"

Just then her pocket vibrated. Confused, Hilda pulled out her phone.

"It's from the Striaton City Gym Leaders!" Hilda put the phone to her ear. "Hello?"

"Hilda!" It was Chili.

"Chili? Why'd you call me? I mean, I know I'm not really doing anything, so your not interrupting anything, but I was kinda enjoying the-"

"Hilda!" Chili was getting impatient. "White, we need you to come down to the gym!"

"Wh-"

"Just come!" Chili then hung up.

Hilda pocketed the phone.

"What could he want?" She asked.

Oshawott didn't say anything.

"Well, whatever it is," Hilda said. "It's sure to be anything but boring!"
