Tiyanna's POV
HI my name is Tiyanna Phillips but you may already know that piece of information. I'm currently a single, heartbroken marine biologist of 1 year because I finished my studies 1 and a half years ago but I decided to take a break.
You see I was in love with my high school crush who became my boyfriend in senior year but it didn't work out obviously. Jash and I were, from different cultural backgrounds and because of that it lead to a lot of conflicts and threats that I couldn't handle so I decided to just let him go and let me tell you that was the hardest decision of my life because I have never found love since.
I'm just a lonely person that swims and talks with penguins but don't get me wrong, their great listeners but I can't help but wonder if I made the right decision of letting him go.
But I guess you guys would love to know why I did what I did 2 years ago ....... well here it is.
FLASHBACK
'Jash are you sure your grandparents are going to like me?' I said while trying to fix the Sari I had to wear in my seat.
We were currently in Jash's car on the way to his parents house where they have their annual Diwali celebration ( a Hindu celebration that happens on the darkest night of the year where they light up the night with diyas).
'Anna for the last time I think they will love you. I mean my parents do and that was though because we all know they can be... difficult...'
I interrupted him and said
'I won't exactly use such an understated word to describe your parents' I said sarcastically and he just shook his head and said
' ...babe you just need to chill and be yourself. It's going to be fine.' Then he held my hand to his mouth and kissed it while giving me a reassuring smile.I really hope it goes well I said to myself then looked out the window for the rest of the ride.
It felt like forever but we finally pulled up to the Singh's mansion oh and did I mention that Jash is loaded?Well he is. His dad is the CEO of Singh's Enterprises, the most well known technological company in the world.
'We're here. You got everything?' Jash said while giving me his signiture smirk.'Yea I do...... what's your grandparents names again?' I asked so that I won't make myself look like a complete fool.
'It's Rajeesh and Reeta Singh but they like when you address them formally' he said while turning the car off then exciting to open my door. I really hope their not those mean indian couple that hates black people I mean I'm light skinned thanks to my dad but that doesn't take away the fact that my mom is African and by that I mean she is literally from Africa, Nigeria to be exact.
Jash opened my door then he gave me a hand to help me out with the Sari that I had on. OMG this piece of clothing was so uncomfortable. I mean how can they wear this everyday.
'Babe you look so beautiful in a Sari but I do not want to see you in that everyday.' Jash complemented me then gave me a kiss on the cheek which made me blush like a complete idiot.
'You dont look so bad yourself but would you be surprised if I told you that i would definitely not wear this garment everyday?' I asked him while he gave me the "obviously" look where he raised one eyebrow then did his signiture smirk.
'I know you prefer jeans and T-shirts but we are getting late so let's go inside' he said while placing his hand on my lower back then guiding me to the grand staircase that leads to their home.
Once we were inside, we were greeted by Indian music that was played by an orchestra and to be honest it was so peaceful. I loved indian music It always reminded me of dancing unicorns. Yes I know I'm like a 2 year old trapped in a 18 year old's body but that's not the case I just have a wide imagination.
