Aurora was of a royal family, generations of kings and queens ran through her blood. But never had she felt so much power, so invincible, as when she was on horseback. When she was riding, she seemed to melt into the saddle and her heart would beat at the same rhythm as the horse's. She loved racing through the green fields and along the river. She rode as often as she could, even if it meant shirking a few responsibilities.

The two sisters raced farther and farther away from the kingdom, through the very woods they knew better than the lumberjack himself did. Birds chirped happily in the trees and small animals scuttled away as the sound of hooves broke the peaceful silence.

They finally stopped beside a lake. They dismounted and led the horses to the water, taking a drink themselves.
"I told you this was a good idea." Aurora said, a big, wild smile on her face. "Yes," Iridian replied, "You're full of surprises today."
"Hey!" Iridian laughed as Aurora pushed her into the lake, dragging herself along too.

Iridian and Aurora sat drying on the bank of the lake, the horses grazing peacefully. A small herd of deer came down to the lake to drink, not minding the humans on the other side of the bank. The sun shone brightly through the leaves of the trees, rustling softly in the cool breeze.
CRACK! The sound of a twig breaking echoed across the water. The herd ran off and disappeared into the trees, making the two sisters look up.

In the shadow of the trees stood an unrecognizable figure. No eyes were visible on any part of it's body, and it was impossible to tell which way it was facing, but Iridian felt asif it was staring straight at them. "I think we should go see what it is." Iridian said finally. "What? No! It might be dangerous. And we don't even have anything to protect ourselves with."
Iridian then revealed a small dagger she'd been keeping hidden in her boots. "Great, " was Aurora's reply. "A steel stick, " but Iridian was already making her way down toward the creature.

The creature was very adapt at hiding in the shadows. Every time the sisters came close, it'd move deeper into the woods, farther away from the lake, from home. But Iridian seemed determined to find out what this beast was, and Aurora followed reluctantly.

After an hour of pursuit, the beast finally came to a stop in a small clearing. Carefully, Iridian crept as close as she could without alarming the beast. It was by far the strangest thing she'd ever seen. It's head was shaped like a very wrinkly pig's, and had sharp, crooked teeth sticking out from it's jaw. It's body was hairless and colorless, with it's front two legs three times longer than it's hind and a stump of a tail. It had huge curled ram's horns on the top of it's head and small spikes on it's jawline.
"What the hell is that?" Said aurora. "Absolutely no clue. Shhh, I'm gonna try to get closer." but as soon as she said it a flock of birds flew straight into her, throwing her off balance. She tumbled straight down into the clearing, coming at a stop straight in front of the beast. Aurora was sure that the beast would tear her to shreds, but it just stood there, above Iridian, perfectly still. Aurora couldn't scream, could barely breathe, frozen in fear.
