When I see you again

Daniel's p.o.v (5)

After arriving at Friday's, we were seated and deciding on what to order.

"We can get an appetizer to share." She suggests.

"Ok I'm cool with that." I said.

Once the waitress came and took our order, we started talking.

"So I'm your man, now?" I asked.

"I was saying that to piss Trisha off but I like the time we've been spending together these last four months ." She said with a smile. 

"Ok, I understand that but I can't help the way I feel, I  want to be your man and I understand if you don't have an answer to that but at least think about it please." I said.

She looked like she was deciding on what to say to me, I'm hoping she's ok with it.

"I'll think on it." She said. Our food came and we ate and talked some more. We were outside the restaurant when her phone rang.

"Hello?" She asked.

"OMG!! I'm on my way." She said.  I was confused when she started crying.

"What's wrong?" I asked her. She looked at me with sadness.

"My niece was shot in the middle of a drive by." She said crying harder.

"It's ok I'll take you to the hospital." I said hugging her and rubbing her back. 

We got in the car and I drove fast. Myceen, kept crying and I was upset because I wanted to find the person who caused this to her niece. When we arrived, Myceen didn't wait for me to park she got out and ran in the hospital. I parked and speed walked in the hospital. I saw her in the waiting room with the rest of her family. I sat next to her brother and he looked pissed off as well.

"What happened to her? Do you need help finding the person, I'll gladly help out." I asked him.

He looked at me with an unreadable expression.

"We were walking and a car drove by and started firing shots and I tried to protect my daughter but she got hit. Thanks I appreciate your help, I need to find this person." He said.

"That's fucked up that the person responsible for this would do this and you're welcome, I got some people I know, who can look up the person responsible for this." I stated.

He looked satisfied with my way of helping.

The doctor came out, and was ready to give us either good or bad news.  "The family of Aubre Knight." The doctor announced.

Everyone stood up. I stood by Myceen. "Is she ok?" Myceen's mother asked.

"She didn't make it, I'm so sorry. If you want to say goodbye she's in room 327."

When the doctor said that everyone lost their minds. Myceen stood stiffly and looked distraught. I held her in my arms. She cried harder than she did on the way to the hospital.

"Daniel, lets go get this son of a bitch!" Her brother yells at me.

I shook my head and gave a small kiss on Myceen's forehead.

"I promise I'll be back and I'm her for you and your family. I'm going to get the motherfucker who did this to your family." I stated as I slowly let go of her.

"Stay strong for your family. I'll be back." I said as I looked at her.

She finally made eye contact with me. She softly shook her head and gave me a small kiss on the lips.

"Be safe and both you and my brother come back safely." She said as she looked at her brother and I.

I shook my head and her brother and I ran out and drove off.
