Is It Worth It

Chapter 2

Their first day back . Tameka and Zorian went to the school that morning to register them.  Once they was done registering them for school , they left to go to work . A'Zari drove her car to school , so that gave her, and her brother and sister a ride home from school .

Xavier was reunited with the same boys he used to hang with and he was happy. Ava found out that one of her closest friends moved and another one was in a bad car accident, but other than that, she still had her sister and Zay'Lah . A'Zari and Zay'Lah planned to hang out later on .

The bell rung for them to go to first block . Zay'Lah , A'Zari , and Ava ended up having first block together , which was culinary arts . Xavier had first block with  Christian Jackson . Xavier remember seeing him around school . They talked every now and then, but not much .

Xavier approached Christian and spoke to him. "Wassup Chris ," Xavier said dapping Christian up.

"Nothing much . Where you been? I haven't seen you in a long ass time." Christian said looking down at his flashing phone.

"Man, we had moved to another part of Cali, but ain't nothing like the place where you from. You feel me?" Xavier said informing Christian .

"Yeah, but aye tho , hold on. Zay'Lah just told me to meet her on the 2nd floor . She sounded like it was important or some shit.

"Aye, Short and thick Zay'Lah . With the fat ass and light brown eyes?" Xavier said while rubbing his hands together and licking his lips.

"Yo chill, that's my best friend. But aye tho , you coming?" Christian said while getting out paper to write a note to the teacher .

"Yeah, my sisters might be with her or some." Xavier spoke while writing out a note also.

The boys both jog up to the 2nd floor to get there and see three boys on one end of the hall and Zay'Lah, A'Zari, and Ava all crowded up in a circle together . The boys was freshmen and Xavier and Christian both knew it. But what caught Xavier's eye mad him furious. He and Christian walked into plain sight and asked what was going on.

"They trying to hurt us." Ava spoke almost in tears.

"Man shut that shit up, why you crying for?" Xavier said wiping her face with the end of his shirt.

"They have a knife man." Zay'Lah whisper with tears in her eyes.

Xavier began to laugh as he turned around and looked at the boys. They started coming closer and Ava grabbed Xavier by the back of his shirt. He snatched away from her and began talking.

"So yo, after all this time of us being friends, you coming to my house, I'm helping you out when you need it, and you wanna fuck with my sisters?" Xavier said while chuckling and shaking his head.

"That bitch right there ain't your sister. Tf you care so much for? That's yo hoe?" The boy spoke pointing at Zay'Lah .

"Jay--" Xavier began to say before he got cut off by Christian .

"Look mother fucker, she ain't no bitch , you better recognize who the fuck you talking to." Christian spoke stepping closer to the group of guys, before being stopped by Xavier.

"Look , chill bro, count to 20  and we going off on these niggas." Xavier whispered in Christian ear.

Christian walked back to tell his "sisters" and they all agreed on it .

"And Jayson, you need to watch who the fuck you calling bitches around here. I will expose your sister and tell everybody everything if you wanna keep running that dick sucker of yours." Xavier began to chuckle .
