Charlie’s P.O.V.
“So, guys, what are we doing tonight?” Val asked everyone.
We were all sprawled out over the wrap around couch. I was sitting between Louis and Val. Louis was hysterical; he kept sneaking peeks at me when he thought I wasn't looking.
“PIZZA!” the one with the Irish accent yelled. Funny, no one introduced me yet. Whatevs’.
“Actually, I’m going to take Charlie out for ice cream...” Louis said cautiously. The Irish one’s face fell slightly. Ice cream? Yum. That was fine with me.
“I kind of wanted to take Val out, too. Sorry,” Harry said.
“That’s alright… I guess Zayn, Liam, and I will do something without you guys,” Irish boy complained. That's what I was going to call him until I got his name. Now, from bits and pieces I’ve heard, I’ve collected four names: Harry, Louis, Zayn, and Liam. I’m pretty sure I matched their names perfectly to their faces, so I know who’s who.
“You don’t happen to have anymore cousins? Do ya Val?” Zayn asked hopefully.
“Actually, I do…. She’s two, ha-ha!” Val laughed. Zayn chuckled, too. Is she stupid or something? She completely forgot about Hazel. Sweet, little, shy Hazel, with her golden locks and green eyes, she’d actually be perfect for Irish Boy rather than Zayn.
“Val!” I hit her. Maybe that’ll jog her memory.
“What? That was uncalled for,” she said, and rubbed her arm where I hit her.
“You’re forgetting about Hazel, silly!” I said, rolling my eyes and Val went into her little thinking mode.
“I forgot about Hazel…. But she wouldn’t come out here for a guy anyway and Aunt Tally doesn’t have any more space for another girl” Val said, as if I were crazy for ever suggesting Hazel.
“Hazel is loaded, Val” I stated.
“Can we fly Hazel out?” Zayn said. He’s going to be disappointed if we do. I mean, they’d be cute together, but I’d much rather see her with Irish Boy.
“Yeah, come on, Val” I pleaded. We could use another girl out here. I mean, come on, it doesn’t look like Val made any girl friends at all.
“Can I talk to you in the kitchen, Charlotte Hope.” Uh-oh, not my middle name. She was mad alright. She’s so uptight sometimes!
“Why yes, you can indeed,” I tried to make her laugh. She just grabbed my arm and started to pull me into the kitchen away from the boys.
“HELP ME,” I mouthed to them as I was being pulled away. They all laughed.
“What is wrong with you, suggesting we fly Hazel out here?” Val whisper-yelled at me.
“What? Hazel’s cute and fun! I don’t see any harm in it,” I defended myself.
“Yeah, well there are three guys and one Hazel; do the math,” Val said. I pretended to count on my fingers to annoy her.
“Oh, please. They’re big boys, right? They can work out their own problems…. Plus, Hazel’s so shy she probably won’t even talk for the first week,” I laughed.
“I’m sorry, Charlie, but my girlfriend is needed on her date…” Harry interrupted, pulling her away.
“Later,” Val mouthed to me. I just gave her the finger and laughed. This was how we joked around with each other.
“Louis, Charlie likes her ice cream smashed in her face,” Val yelled over to Louis before leaving. Good one, that was actually funny.
“So, ready to get some ice cream, Charlie?” Louis asked me, all smiley. He was adorable.
“Yeah! Let’s go. Are Irish Boy and the others going to be okay by themselves?” I joked with him.
“Yeah, Niall and the others will be fine,” he laughed. Niall. Good, now I can stop calling him Irish Boy, ha-ha!
“Niall! Okay, got it,” I laughed.
“Come on, let’s go.” He grabbed my hand, sending shivers down my spine, and pulled me to the door.
“So, tell me about you, Louis,” I asked him as we got into the car.
“Okay, where to begin…. I don’t want to freak you out, so tell me to stop if you want,” he said. I just nodded for him to go on. We were just sitting in the car, talking. “Well, my name is Louis Tomlinson, my favorite color is red, I love the Fray, I have a four siblings - one’s actually named Charlotte - I have a fear of growing up, I’m twenty-years-old, and I love carrots. If you don’t like carrots feel free to exit the car,” Louis laughed.
“Interesting, and yes, Louis, I love carrots. Why would any of that freak me out? ” I replied, laughing.
“Also, one more teeny-tiny thing,” he said. I just nodded. “In 2010 the boys and I auditioned for the X-Factor and got put into a boy band called One Direction, and now we're pretty famous, even in America,” he said.
“Cool!” I said excitedly. I loved boy bands; this is going to be interesting. When I was fifteen I used to sign my name Mrs. Charlotte Hope Jonas. That’s right, I was Nick Jonas’ wife he never knew about.
“Cool?” he asked, looking concerned. I’ve never heard of One Direction.
“How did you want me to react?” I asked. I put my hands on my face, Home Alone style, and yelled “OH, MY GOD, IT’S LOUIS FREAKING TOMLINSON!” He just laughed and leaned his head onto the steering wheel.
