Mia's P.O.V.

I woke up to my father screaming at me before  I felt the sting of his slap against my back. "YOU LITTLE HUSSY! WHY ARE YOU NOT UP YET? I TOLD YOU TO HAVE BREAKFAST ON THE TABLE BY 7:30 NO LATER!"

Once again I felt a slap. "I-I'm sorry ," I mumbled out scared to upset him even more.

"Sorry doesn't cut it young lady! I want you home as soon as school lets out! Then you will clean the house and wait in your room and do homework till I get home. Then we'll have some fun," he said menacingly with an evil smile twisting onto his face.

      I gulped, "Yes sir.'

Once he left I brushed my long chestnut brown hair and let it rest in its natural waves before grabbing high-wasted jeans and a tank top that said, "KEEP CALM AND BREATHE ON" in bold letters.

I slung my bag over my shoulder before running down the stairs and out the door. It wasn't until I was driving out of the driveway that I let out the breath I had been holding thankful I hadn't been caught.

I jammed out to "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten belting out the lyrics as I drove. I enjoyed the comfort because driving was my only freedom. It was either face my father or the bullies at school. However I couldn't skip because A.) my dad would find out, and B.) I needed the best possible grades so I could get a full ride scholarship to college.

Sadly I cut the engine as I pulled into a parking spot. I took a deep breath to brace myself for today before stepping out of my jeep. As soon as I did I was grabbed and slammed up against my car.

"Well, well, well, look who we have here. Little Miss Mia," Jayden spat at me.

Defiantly I turned my head to the side but when I realized what I had done it was too late. Jayden had lifted me up slightly of the ground but tossed me with enough force that I rolled twice in the gravel parking lot.

I laid there checking myself for any severe injuries. I had a small cut on my lip and one on my ankle but nothing was broken.

He walked over to me and kicked me in my stomach once before spitting on me as I curled into a ball clutching my stomach trying to ignore the agonizing pain.

Suddenly a booming voice was heard over all of the commotion, "You shouldn't have done that!"

A/N So what do you think?  The girl at the top is Mia by the way in case you hadn't figured it out by now.

Mia: I think my life sucks!

Author: Aww poor Mia! Don't worry it can't get any worse.

Mia: Don't say that! Whenever somebody says that is always gets worse!

Mystery Guy: I'm gonna knock his lights out!

Mia: Uh-oh
