"Mom, hurry up before I burn out here!" I yell. The sun was out and shining, and it was like 77 degrees. Every summer, we'd go up to Sunset where Gina, Cameron, and Sierra had a beach house. Mom was making sure everything was turned off before we'd leave, so when we'd come back, the house would be where we left it. I was so excited to see everyone. Gina and my mom were best friends since high school, so naturally me, Sierra, and Cameron were too. Although Sierra and Cameron were siblings, I was considered the long lost sister. We were always the three musketeers.

"Alright, I'm done," my mom said with her back to my face as she locked the door. I hopped back into the front seat, kicked off my flip flops and rested my feet on the dashboard.

"Okay, let's get this thing on the road," Mom said. I felt the car dip as she got in the driver's seat. I turned on the radio and bobbed my head to the song Timber by Kesha and Pitbull.

"So mom, are you excited to see Gina again?" I asked just to start conversation.

"Of course. As always. What about you? Are you excited to see Cam?" My eyes widened at the thought of my mom knowing I had a crush on him. My mouth opened but no words came out. My mom laughed and snorted at the mini panic attack I had.

"Mom, I don't even know what you're talking about. You know that me and Cameron are like brother and sister right?" I said trying to cover it up. It would be really awkward if my mom knew I liked Cam. She would tease me about it every chance she would get. On the other hand, Gina had a hunch that I would be meant for one of her kids. So considering I'm not a lesbian and don't have a crush on Sierra, I guess you could say Gina's assumption is right. I'm in love with Cameron.

"Sweetie, I'm not dumb. I see the way you look at Cam. It's okay, I'll lay off a bit when we get the the beach house."

"Well, I don't know what you're talking about. So..." I explained to her, but in the inside I let out a sigh of relief. My mom nodded and smirked her little lopsided smirk. The smirk she always gives you when she knows something that you don't want her to know. I looked back at the road through my heart shaped sunglasses I got from Urban Outfitters. I pressed on the button to slide down the window. I let my fingers hang out the window, so I can feel the wind. It was perfect. It wasn't too cold and it wasn't too dry. I fell asleep at the feeling of the wind slipping through my fingers.

"Hun, wake up we're here!" Mom said to the sound of the tires screeching as she pulled into the driveway of the beach house. I immediately woke up and checked myself on my phone screen. I wiped the saliva on my cheek and the eyeliner that smudged near my eye. I quickly pinched my cheeks to give them some color and hopped out of the car. As I took out my bags, I saw my mom staring at me through the rearview mirror. She smirked at me again with her signature smirk.

"What? Wy are you looking at me like that?" I asked.

"No reason." She said back getting out of the car. I smoothed out my bleached high waisted shorts and tucked in my yellow tanktop. I heard the door open, and I instinctively fixed my hair to make sure my hair didn't frizz up. I peeked out from behind the car and saw Gina, Cameron, and Sierra. I squealed with joy and hugged all of them at once.

"Hi! I missed you guys so much!" I said. I took a look at Gina, my second mom, and she looked great considering the chemo she had a couple years back. Her hair had grown back a little, but it wasn't the same as before.

"I missed you too Kelsie!" Gina said as she hugged me back again. She walked over to my mom and helped her with the bags.

I looked at Sierra, and she looked even taller than the last time I saw her. She was wearing a white flowy dress with tan colored sandals. Her hair was worn wavy like mine.

"Hey Sierra! You look gorgeous!" I said giving her another hug.

"Thanks, girl! You do too! I love your shorts!" Sierra said. I smiled back at her. Finally I looked at Cam. I lifted up my sunglasses and propped them on top of my head. I put my hands on my hips and examined Cameron. His brown hair was cut and styled to the side. Better than last year's hair style, like a bad justin bieber flip. And now his hair was out of his face which brought out his hazel, brown eyes.

"Hey Cam." I said bringing him in for a hug. I felt his huge biceps around me, and I felt goosebumps starting to form on my own arms.

"Hi Kelsie. What happened to you? You got so... pretty," Cam said with a smile laughing. My cheeks blushed like crazy, and I realized I didn't need to pinch my cheeks earlier to give them color. Cameron did that all by himself.

"Haha Cameron. And what happened to you? You got so buff," I joked back.

"Yeah, I know," Cam said flexing his muscles. I nearly fainted when he did that, but I managed to keep myself up.

"Well, why don't you use those muscles to help me carry my stuff inside?" I said.

He laughed and did what I said. When all of the stuff were brought inside, me, Sierra, and Cam all sat on the couch while mom and Gina went to the kitchen to prepare lunch.

"So Sierra, what's up with you? How's cheerleading?" I ask.

"Uh nothing much. I think I'm getting better. But I am dating this guy on the football team. His name is Tyler. I invited him to go to the beach with us later." She said with a smile on her face. Sierra always had a smile on her face, and it suited her. Her teeth were perfectly straight and her lips were always pink and plump.

"What about you, Kelsie? Anyone hitting on you?" Cameron asked looking directly at me.

I felt my mom's eyes look up from the kitchen counter and now listening to our conversation.

"No, but being a Junior, I don't have time for boys. It's always just study, study, study," I said. My mom nodded and went back to chit chatting with Gina.

"Good. Because if guys hit on you, I'll hit them. You know that right Kelsie?" Cameron said cracking his knuckles.

"Definitely." I replied. It was good to know Cameron was there to protect me.
