The next morning Star took extra time getting ready. She left her hair down and stuck a red headband with two little bows on top on her head to keep the hair out of her eyes, then she slipped on a bright blue sundress with a white belt secured around the waist.
The dress had short sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and it cut off just above her knees.
As Star carefully adjusted her headband she sighed at herself.
"What are you doing?" she mumbled under her breath before getting her things together.
Star sighed again in remorse as she dropped her wand into her bag.
"Morning Star!" said an overly-enthusiastic Ms. Jan once Star had entered the kitchen.
"Morning," Star replied apathetically, smiling faintly.
"I packed your lunch today!" Ms. Jan announced, sliding a small cheetah-print cooler across the counter.
"Thanks," Star said gratefully, grabbing the cooler.
With a nod of farewell Star slipped on some white converse (a 'welcome to echo creek' present from Ms. Jan) and made her way down the Jenson's cement driveway.
With a quick flip of her hair she caught sight of the big yellow bus making its way down her street.

The transportation from home to school here is odd. You have to sit in a large yellow car with roughly around 60 other teenagers. Oh, and it smells like sweat and morning breath.
The boy sitting in front of me isn't wearing deodorant (wondering how I can tell? I can smell his body odor so clearly I might throw up) and the person behind me is leaning on my seat well sticking their feet out onto their own chair (sitting backwards basically).
Otherwise, school here hasn't been too bad (yet), the classes are actually fairly enjoyable, though the people I have met in between periods are less so.
Like yesterday I met this senior named Marco. I found him about to slam a freshman into a locker when I cut in. He was just so cocky and...so infuriating!
He actually tracked me down on my way home from school and asked me to accompany him the next day! Imagine that! Me, the princess of Mewni, taking a nice little stroll with some wannabe thug just because he thinks I can't sum up his personality with one glance.
Did I mention that he was infuriating? Oh, yes I did, but he is! He toyed with me like a sadistic little...

Star's writing was cut short by the abrupt stop of the bus. Stowing her things away hastily, she filed out with the other students.
The day was surprisingly sunny and Star spent her first three periods daydreaming about going outside and somehow still managing to diligently take notes.
In between her 2nd and 3rd period Star stumbled into a girl named Jackie who she immediately clicked with. Jackie was a junior like Star, she was outgoing and extremely friendly and the two had arranged to meet again at lunch before parting ways.
In her final class before lunch hour Star daydreamed of looking like Jackie who had beautiful, wavy, shoulder-length hair with aqua blue highlights that matched her eyes. Even Jackie's eyelashes were prettier than Star's, being longer, darker and thicker than her own.
Star figured idolizing someone's appearance probably wasn't the best foundation for a friendship so she quickly cleared her mind and tried her best to focus on school instead of her fury at Marco or jealousy of Jackie.
