2ND POV

Ever since you took off your mask, and tossed it into the trash, letting it be only a memory, the team found something! It was that you were a cheerful sort of bot. Nobody could escape your jokes, puns, or smiles! Especially your smiles. Even Optimus cracked a smile because of you from time to time!

You got along amazingly with Smokescreen and Bumblebee due to your happy-go-lucky sort of personalities. Arcee was great for girl talk as soon as she warmed up to you, as there were a lot of things she couldn't gossip about with the boys or Miko. Bulkhead and Wheeljack were fun to play lob with, and Ratchet didn't seem to mind you, though with him, it was kind of hard to tell.

The only person they did not get to was Optimus' second in command, Ultra Magnus. He seemed confused by your effects rather than happy. You couldn't tell if he was annoyed or not, only that he was not emotionally present in any conversation regarding anything at all. You preferred friends over drill sergeants, but you weren't one to give up on people. Not anymore.

One day, an unexpected energon signal popped up on the Autobot radar. Ultra Magnus was obviously going, no doubt about it. Optimus was partnering you with him for your first mission, which excited you greatly! Magnus didn't protest, though it sure looked like he wanted to. You were an ex-Con, and he was still attempting to warm up to you.

Ratchet fired up the ground bridge, and with your portable scanner in servo, you and Shoulderpads set off.

"Ultra Magnus sir,  the signal appears to be stronger further out." You announced after watching the scanner for a little bit. The commander nodded, and continued moving forwards. You wanted to open up a conversation with him, but you wouldn't know what topics he was interested in or if the time was even appropriate!

Why must it be so hard to talk to a commander casually?

This is why conversations with you and higher-ups were never engaged.

You kept walking, keeping your sparkling optics on the portable scanner's screen. Magnus stopped walking, causing you to ram into his back. After receiving a glare from him, you returned it with an awkward smile that seemingly surprised him.

   "We have arrived."

"Great! Should we alert the team?" You suggested. The Autobot SIC shook his head.

"I will collect a sample, but we should scout more first." He ordered before going down a energon-filled tunnel. You nodded in agreement, even though he couldn't see you. As far as you could tell, this was a very large deposit!

But how did it go unnoticed for so long? You weren't sure, but you honestly didn't care. This was amazing! He probably expected you to get a sample yourself, like Starscream would, but he wasn't the 'Screamer. So, you broke off a not-too-small, not-too-large piece of an energon crystal just in case.

You came back to the cave you arrived in, finding Ultra Mags in there as well. You greeted him with a cheery smile once again, causing more unnoticed shock to appear on his face.

"Ultra Magnus, here. Ratchet, we are in need of a ground bridge." He announced over the comm-link. Why was your happiness so contagious? He had completely forgot about the energon sample as he questioned your unique personality while wandering the cave system. Luckily, you had collected one instead.

"Coming right up!" The medic told you. A swirling green and blue portal appeared right in front of the two of you. You respectfully allowed your commander to go first, and you skipped right behind him, and through the bridge. You gave the sample to Shoulderpads, who handed it over to Ratchet. Seeing you were unneeded, you skipped away.

And Magnus allowed one—gladly unnoticed by others—grin to spread across his face as your hips swayed while you skipped away.

How out of character for him!
