maya quietly hummed to herself as she placed the candles on the coffee table, trying not to think too hard about whether or not he was going to like it. after all, these were the things he said were his favorite, so he should love it, but she couldn't help but worry that he was going to hate it all.

you see, when maya was changing, sarah sent her a link to an article where brad talked about what his ideal night in would be. when she saw that it was laying on the couch watching movies and drinking wine, she figured she might as well set it up for him, in hopes of breaking the tension that was building between them. while he was in the bathroom taking a shower, she took a bottle of white wine out from the wine cooler that she didn't even know existed in the suite, and placed the wine glasses on the table in the living room, and she even managed to get sarah out of the hotel for a few hours. everything was going perfectly, and she couldn't wait to see his reaction to the whole setup.

"wow," a voice mumbled, so quietly that maya almost didn't hear it. however, when she finally lit the last candle and set it down on the coffee table, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her chest and a chin on her shoulder, making her smile widely. "this looks amazing."

maya grinned and lifted her arms, letting her hands grip onto his forearms. "do you really like it?" she asked, turning her head to look up at him. "i didn't know if you were going to like it because i couldn't find the exact candle scent that you mentioned but i texted connor and he said you liked this kind too so i was hoping you woul-"

bradley chuckled and placed his lips on her cheek, silencing her rant. "it's perfect, love."

she was almost giddy when he called her that, although she wasn't completely sure why. it was just a nickname, so why did it make her so happy?

"i'm glad you like it," she told him, extremely glad that he didn't think it was weird or badly set up.

"how did you find the wine? i was pretty sure con and i were the only ones who knew about that," he questioned, and she shrugged.

"it wasn't that hard, i actually found it looking for the wine glasses."

he pulled his arms away from her completely and took a last look around at everything that had been set up and couldn't help but wonder how she had known every single detail to put into this to make this the perfect night for them, the only people who knew about this were tristan and then...

"you read my interview," he realized, a smirk instantly appearing on his face. maya froze, only confirming his thoughts, and he couldn't help it laugh. "oh my god, you actually read my interview. you just can't get enough of me can you?"

maya felt embarrassed, completely and utterly embarrassed. he probably thought she was obsessed with him or something, and the fact that he was still laughing made her feel like an idiot. the way he reacted made her feel pathetic, and she couldn't stand to listen to his laughter any longer. she sighed and ran a hand through her hair, turning and starting to walk back to her room. she knew this was a mistake, she should've never set this up. now he probably thinks she's some crazy stalker girl or something.

"bloody hell," brad muttered under his breath once he realized that she must've taken him seriously, quickly jogging over to maya and grabbing her hand, stopping her momentarily. "i didn't mean it like that maya, please don't be upset with me. i love what you did, i think it's absolutely adorable."

maya sighed yet again, and she looked up at him to see if he actually meant what he said.

"you do?" she asked, and brad let out a breath of relief.

"of course, love. this is the nicest thing a girl has ever done for me," he grinned at her, and she couldn't help but smile back.

"wow, so i have some high standards to uphold then," she joked, and he chuckled in response.

"trust me, you won't have any trouble with that. no one compares when it comes to you," he told her.

if only she knew how true those words were.
