Louisiana, my home sweet home. I was born and raised here and it's time for the famous Crawfish festival in my home town, Breaux Bridge, LA. I can't wait for everyone to all come together. Have fun, eat amazing crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, and every other Cajun dish you can think of. Most of all, my favorite part, the music. I love Louisiana's wide range of music. Great talents come from Louisiana. In fact my biggest inspiration is going to be here to preform in his hometown!

I can't wait to meet the guy that taught me that being a weird, awkward, or a music geek is perfectly normal. That's exactly what I am. I breathe, sleep, eat, and live music. It's the only thing that helps me through my tough times. His music has touched me the most. It's like he takes the words I could never say, out of my mouth and makes it 10x better.

Soon my mom tells me to start getting ready so we can go help set up, you see my dad is one of the chairmen that help plan major events like the crawfish festival, he also thinks it's good to help make things go smoothly.

I go to my bathroom, strip and get into the warm shower. As always, I start singing, I decide to sing Better Than This. My favorite, mostly because it describes how I wanna leave and move to Nashville, and live my dream. Just like Hunter did.

"My bags were packed from the day I was born. Knew there was something I was living for. I found my place in a runaway car and I never looked back, never looked back" I sang on key.

My parents always have kinda supported me, but they are still big on me focusing on school and doing something I know I can get a job with. Like nursing or teaching. Me, I want to do something I love, something that makes me feel like I was made to do it.

Teaching, or nursing isn't something I want to do.

I finally got washed and dryed. I fixed my cocoa brown hair into a side braid. Then I got dressed into my blue and white thermal, with simple blue jeans, topping it off with my black converses. I sprayed on my perfume and fixed my brothers dog tags around my neck.

He's stationed in Iraq right now. We write as much as we can. It could be month before we get a letter though. It's been 2 weeks since I sent my last letter, including recent pictures of the family. It's been really hard on me being without him.

"Mel! Hurry we have to get going!" My dad yelled from down stairs. "I'm coming, hold your horses!" I yelled back. I grabbed my money clip and stuck it in my pocket. I'm not one to keep up with purses.

I ran downstairs with my parents. Climbing into my Ol' Chevy truck. My dad and I are currently trying to restore it. Almost there before it's back to its original look.

I followed my parents to the festival grounds. To my surprise I see Hunters tour bus parked behind the stage. I smiled wide. I can barley hold in my excitement when I get out the truck. I usually help with carrying stage equipment so I head over there. I see Matt and Devi but no one else in the band, or Hunter.

Matt turns and sees me. He smiles. "Hayniac?" He asked. I smiled and nodded shyly. "Well I'm sorry kid but Hunter can't see anyone yet, he's getting ready." He said grabbing his bass guitar. My eyes widen. "Oh sorry, I'm actually here to help. My dad's a chairmen and likes to help with setting everything up so here I am. Ready to work." I say gently grabbing the guitars and placing them on the guitar stands.

"Oh sorry. I thought since your a fan that you came for the kid. Thanks for the help." He said while him and Devo place the piano in place. I smiled. "I'd love to meet him but maybe afterward, or whenever he has time. Anytime by the way. Just call my name." Matt and Devo smiled. "I'm sure he'd like that. By the way what's your name?" Devo asked. "Melody Johnson" They both nodded. "We'll tell Hunter to call for you after the show." My eyes widen, I almost dropped the microphone stands that were in my hands. "R-Really?" I asked, shocked that I'd finally meet my Hero. They both laughed and nodded. "Hunters always trying to meet his Hayniacs as much as possible." Matt said putting the finally equipment in place. I smiled. "Thanks so much! Just let me know if ya'll need anything" I said. They nodded, "Nice to meet you Melody!" They said before heading to the bus. I smiled and ran over to my dad. "I just meet Matt and Devo!" I said. He laughed. "That's great honey, just don't bother them to much alright?" I rolled my eyes and nodded.

In just 2 hours my hero, inspiration, and life savior. I've been through a lot and Hunter was there for me when my parents couldn't, though they tried but It just didn't help me. Only he did. ❤️
