It felt insane how even though I was attending one of the best universities in the country, they had the worst food. ever. I looked down at my plate and wondered what deep secrets lied there, what kind of poisons were there. Still, I needed energy and this was the best way to provide it. I needed to study and I had come to the experience that i seriously couldn't do it with an empty stomach.

I looked around for an empty table. When I found one, I went as quickly and as gracefully as I could with many books in my arms, and a full plate of food.

The cafeteria was part mess part silence. I could see people like me, studying alone or in groups. Other with an empty stare caused by the latest finals. And then was the chaos... The same group of students who were always laughing and doing weird stuff. Today there were less boys than other days, but nevertheless, they made a chaos.

A boy of black hair was trying to do a pyramid, I guess, with the forks. I guessed he was some kind of engineer by the way he was putting up the forks with an order. There was a boy laughing as if he had heard the best joke ever and if he didnt laugh he would die. Then there was the boy doing the stupid thing, he had blonde hair and had ketchup all over his hair. he looked angry, but there was also a red head boy. He had a smug smile on his face. I couldn't exactly see his eyes, but they seemed like an ocean color. he wasn't particularly laughing, but he wasn't exactly serious either.

The guy with ketchup all over his hair talking to the dude who couldn't stop laughing. It didn't seem like a civilized conversation, yet everyone but him seemed to be enjoying it.

I knew this wasnt important but I couldn't stop watching. Maybe it is because of the fact that i haven't slept in like forever, which is maybe 28 hours a freaking record.

Since I had to stop being a creep and keep myself from watching them, i started focusing on my things and opened one of the thousand books I was going to read. It was about neurological connections, but a bit more advanced. I knew this was going to take long, even more because of the fact that I lost 3 hours of time watching one of the worst movies ever. obviously a romantic one. But I enjoyed laughing at them, and I needed a rest from all this brain stuff.

My stomach rumbled a bit, so I opened the bag of mangoes and a bag of salt. I started eating them without a second thought.

I was almost starting to review chapter 11, when I heard laughter behind me. It was the kind of laugh that simply made you laugh yourself. it made you laugh in spite of the laugh and not the joke. I knew exactly who it was.

"No, but seriously Amelia, i think he was actually asking me out, but I seriously didn't realize it until it was too late." Rosa said, in a embarassed tone, and i knew that my best friends were coming to bother me like demons or spam again.

"Oh but look Tractor, there's lil Costal again, i wonder what absurdity she's up to again." Amelia said in a joking matter.

I wondered again why they were so inmature at 21. We named each other after "normal objects used in process of trash" in spanish, because Amelia had a thing for a spanish dude back then. I don't remember exactly why, but it was in the second year. Amelia was basura, Rosa was tractor, and I, the dearest, was costal.

"Yeah, yeah look who's talking Basura. Want me to fight you again?" I said holding up my fists, to "prove my point".

I knew she knew I was aggressive, but I also knew she could tackle me with tickles.

All through this conversation, I didn't bother to raise my head from my book, because I knew who they were, and that they were probably making faces at me, as freaking always. They both sat in front of me, and they inmediately started to eat their food like there was no tomorrow. I also inmediately started grabbing fries from Am's tray. she simply looked at me, and grabbed some of my mangoes.

"So, shitbags, are you going to that frat party?" Rosa said while checking her phone.

I thought about my next words because, well parties were mostly their life after finals, and they were always trying to drag me to them. I honestly liked them, but I had stuff to do for my parents, so I wasn't exactly sure when I would be "free" from their wishes. So, I simply stood quiet and started on reading again.

"I don't know. Maybe Jeff is going so...maybe not." Basura said.

I knew she didn't want to see her ex who wasn't her ex, but just a douche who liked to suck her face every time they saw each other. She looked behind her to the table with the laughing dudes. Jeff was the one with ketchup. He was apparently in a better mood now. He was talking to the red head. They were both very concentrated until they felt Amelia's gaze.

"Shot." She said as she turned her face toward us again.

I knew she was wanting to see other people and get free of Jeff for a while.
"Guys, I'm going to my room. Dont tell Jeff where I went if he asks pleaseeee." And she left as soundlessly and fast as a cheetah.
