"H- How is tonight at seven?" Gene nervously inquired. He had no idea where the anxiousness came from, but it was overwhelming.
"P- Perfect! I'll meet you there!" Draw beamed.
They stood in front of Draw's house, both blushing messes.
Gene waved bye and ran off, avoiding embarrassing himself more.Gene stood near the entrance of the restaurant, holding a dozen roses he had bought to give to Draw. He was wearing fancy clothes his mom had given him. It was their first real date and Gene wanted to impress her. His hair was slicked back with gel and his hands were clammy.
He had known long ago he had lost the game. Her boldness as to challenge him sparked his interest in her. As the days progressed and he got to know and trust her more, he learned that there was more to Draw than the backstabbing blackmailer she had made herself to be. She was shy, quiet, kind and understanding beyond his comprehension. He had no idea how many layers there was to her, and to get to the final layer, the real her was a whole other world they were on.
Gene was snapped out of his thoughts by Draw. She wore a white lace dress that was tight at the bust and flared out at the bottom paired with light blue flats.
"Wow..." Gene mused. "You... You look... Amazing."
Draw smiled shyly. Gene, at that point, knew she got quiet when she was flustered or embarrassed. He found it adorable.
"Shall we go in?" Gene asked. Draw nodded and followed him in."Hey, I had fun tonight." Draw beamed. They stood on Draw's porch under the starry sky.
"I did, too..." Gene smiled.
Both were only telling half the truth. Fancy places had never been their forte, and both acted completely out of character. They never liked being too quiet or polite for extended periods of time. ANd being around each other didn't make it any easier. How would it? They were two young- two rebellious- teenagers falling in love.
"Did your mom say I had to have you back at a certain time?" Gene inquired, glancing at the windows of the girl's house. "'Cause if not, I know a pretty secluded place to go."
"Are you trying to seduce me?" Draw skeptically inquired, playfully shoving him.
"What? No no no! I was just... Wondering if you wanted to go stargazing... It's a really clear night tonight, and I've never really gotten to do it with anyone, I've always gone by myself."
"... No, she didn't. I'm going to change and tell her I'll be home before breakfast."
"Really? Your mom would let you?"
"No, dumbass! Let's go before she realizes we're here!"
Draw grabbed Gene's arm and ran off her property. Gene laughed and took the lead. The stopped at a clearing in a forest near the park. There were blankets, pillows, and a telescope laid out.
"Wow." Draw mused. Gene chuckled and grabbed her hand.
"I told you I go star gazing. C'mon, let's see what we can see."
