Boom bo-boom, boom bo-boom, my heart said as it rested in my chest. Slowly closing my eyes and moving my hand over my left forearm I took a deep breath in, to steady my racing beat of a heart. Opening my eyes back up I looked in the the window of the store close by. My mission, was to wait in this alley-way for my 'doctor' with a secret that could help me live. In truth I was trying to find a scientist that had gone underground for a while after getting fired for illegal experiments, only to hear a few years later he moved to planet Alpha to set up shop and give people what they want for a outrageous price they couldn't pay or a favor that got them killed.

The police were having trouble finding him and was about to give up when my boss pulled me in. I, Olympia Zaylon, am the detective of my time. Not only have I never stopped till I completed my objective, but I'm also the youngest one in history. I smile a bit to myself at all I've done in a matter of my life, that is till I hear footsteps coming this way. I make myself seam weak and sick the pale makeup I wore helping to make it more convincing as the shady character walks up to me.

"What do you do when your computer crashes?" He asked, it being the secret phrase that could make or break this mission. I give a sickly cough and a wheeze before answering with the right response.

"Why, you must reboot it." I said having gotten the password only days ago. He gives me a nod and gives me an envelope with more information on it and leaves without a word.

I waited till he was long gone before walking out of the alley-way and over to the store, I'd been looking at before the guy had arrive. I walked in asked where the restroom was and slowly, while annoying myself but keeping my mission in mind, make my way inside and making sure it was all clear before locking the door. Letting out a relieved sigh I walked over to the sinks and started to wash the paste like makeup off and taking my contacts out, as well as taking the wig off and letting my long dark brown hair flow down over my shoulder and to the middle of my back. Scratching it out and putting it in a ponytail. Taking my backpack off I changed my cloths. I put on a black shirt with white sleeves that come to my elbow and a pair of dark blue jeans. Putting my bag back on, I pulled my riding gloves out of my pocket and unlocked the door walking out and to keep from looking suspicious I bought a few energy drinks, an atoms-up, and some small cakes paid for it and walked out and down a few blocks to my motorcycle.

I walked up to my chrome baby and it's curved seat. Swinging one leg over I settle into the seat and put on my helmet, metal spikes going along the top of my head to the back in a straight line, smaller ones in between the larger. I put my hand to the flat panel in front of me and it roared to life and lifting up, the "wheels" giving off a dark blue glow, as well as the small spaces between each part that made it up. I took off I to the sky and got into the traffic now twenty feet off the ground.

Zig-zagged my way through the traffic for a half hour before parking my motorcycle and walking up to my apartment I was housed at. When I walked into the lobby and the old lady at the front desk hands me my fake mail. I glanced over it pretending to be interested, but in reality all I did was read my undercover name, Bethany Kennedy, an easy to forget generic name, one that my handler came up with using most common first and last names. With a shake of my head I walk up the stairs to the second floor and go in room B. Setting my stuff down and and turning on the lights as I close the front door, I took a few steps forward to the kitchen counter and put some fish food in a clear glass bowl with a blue and black betta fish swimming up to eat, in the corner of the bowl at the bottom was a label that said, "Mr. Katt" and I softly smiled.

"Now how about that envelope Mr. Katt?" I said mostly to myself but playing it as if I'm not crazy, though it was nice to talk to something that could breath even if it's IQ was below one.

Breaking the seal on the envelope I pulled out the papers inside. One page held my medical records, one held the location and date to meet the doctor for 'recovery', another page held the deal I was to make with him, and the last page. I pushed the others aside and pulled up the fourth and final page the only words written on it was option eternal. Shaking my head I looked at the three other pages making sure my file was right and where it was located. Then took pictures of it all uploaded them on to the computer and sending one copy to my handler and the other on a flash drive just in case before sending them off.

After hours of looking it all over I look at the last paper again finding a number at the bottom. I pondered weather or not call it before picking up my cellphone, dailing the number and listen as the phone gave two rings before it was answered.

"Welcome Miss. Kennedy, if you are calling because you found a paper on your envelope that had this number then you were given an opportunity of a lifetime. Professor Maddox has chosen you specially for his new experiment. If you so choose to know more or want to accept then press one if you want to stick to your original plan and forget about this offer press two." I listened as the robotic voice repeated the message three and a half more time before going with my gut and pressing one. Deep down a part of me said this was the key to ending it all and if it hadn't been me who knows what would have happened. By the end of the message my date had moved up and I was to meet him in the morning at the location.

Hanging up the phone I got ready for tomorrow and went to bed.

I got up early, getting myself wanting a look around the place before he showed. I had to know what this new experiment was and fast but I still had to keep my cover in tack. I took in a deep breath and made my way to the corner of West Street and twenty-third avenue.
