"Woodz, come inside. It's time to start your homework!"
Woodz was a smart girl in her middle school. Decent grades, funny attitude, laughing out of pure joy. Her striking, deep blue ocean eyes always grabbed the neighbors attention. Her long, flowing blonde hair like the suns rays shinning through a dark gather in of clouds. She lived in a house near the edge of the woods; hence why her name was named after them. Also, because of her love for disappearing off deeply. Woodz turned around d as her mother called.
"Mom, can I please go out to my secret spot? Just for a little bit? Pleeeeeeeeease." She begged her already exagusted mother.
"Woodz, you know how I feel about you wandering out without me by your side. You were damn near lost last time," she chuckled at the crazy memory replaying in her head, "so no."
"But Moooom. I just wanna grab my favorite doll."
She got down on her knees in the pleading position to her mother. Although her mother strongly advised her daughter to not go out alone, she was too tired to argue with her.
"Alright, alright. Go get your toy. But," she raised her finger, "I want you back in 20 minutes. I really don't want to call the police again. Ok?"
Woodz jumped up and hugged her mother's tall frame. She raised her head, "thank you Mom! I'll be as fast as a spaceship!"
She started making engine noises as she ran away towards the forest, arms shooting forward just like a rocket.
The forest was like her second home. The never ending trees a protection from the outside world of the city and lights. The grass and mud felt so soft and calming under her sneakers as she edged closer to her safe spot.
But then, something caught her eyes.
Stopping abruptly, the mysterious object captured her attention again. It's as if it was a ghost, dashing from tree to tree, only its long, black tail being detected for a second. Woodz, with her peculiarness, started her way towards the flying object as she thought.
When she squeezed between two large boulders, she was flabbergasted.
The opening led to a small pond coated with a layer of Lilly pads. Small frogs and toads lightly disturbed the peace this extravagant place brought upon her. Woodz walked towards the water, kneeling down at her reflection. Fish and salamanders waded around, never noticing her presence.
It was then she saw something.
It looked pale yellow-white, but, it was very blacked over, almost as if a layer of some type of substance covered the details. Woodz reached into the water, wanting to remove the smudge she suspected was on the foreign object. It wouldn't clear away. It felt slippery to the touch. She pulled her hand out and started off towards the exit, unaware the smudged looking object started rising itself out of the pond. It's body towered over hers, making it's shadow block out the rays through the trees.
Woodz stopped.
She started to panic.
She froze in place seeing the odd shaped shadow towering over her. She wanted to turn, but it was as if the ground grabbed her and started sinking into the earth.
Her eyes shifted to the right, her head moving deathly slow behind her.
The heat raidated off her body towards the unknown being.
It wanted to strike, but kept calm, knowing it could easily end her life.
It had to wait for the right moment.
It couldn't have her dead.
It needed her, and it didn't have much time left.Woodz finally turned around and it all happened so fast.
Like time and space had stopped right in front of her eyes.
The creature held the child down.
She tried to scream, but it shoved it's mouth on hers; the second flesh in it's jaws forcing its way down the child's esophogus.
It was over so fast.
The creature puured after it finished its work, dashing away.It stopped, looked back.
The child was spasming, shedding almost. Her back arched sharply, and twisted around flat on the ground. The child finally let out a scream, but it was more of a blood curdling shriek.
Something spine chilling for anyone to hear.
Finally, its own physical appearance broke from the skin of the child, confused at first, but wildly alert.
She looked at the creature, studying it.
It screeched into the air, and finally took off out of sight.__________________________________
"Where is she!" Yelled Sheri, Woodz's mother.
Her daughter hadn't returned from the forest for almost 2 hours.
The police were notified after she placed the call worried that something had happened to her little girl, and immediately started a search party to locate her.
Sheri was hysterical.
She knew she shouldn't had let her daughter go alone.
Why did I have to say yes?
Why couldn't I be stronger?
I should've said no and been the mother I'm supposed to be, she thought to herself as she dropped to her knees."Chief!" Yelled an officer. "I've got something!"
The unit ran into the woods where the officer was yelling from.
He had Woodz cradled in his arms.
She was barely conscience, but was still able to hear what everyone was saying.
He finally came out of the clearing."What the-"
The Chief saw the girl was full nude covered with his comrades jacket.
She was shivering, but not from the cold, it was as if she saw a ghost.
She was clean everywhere though. No scratches or bruises anywhere that he could see.
He didn't wanna check because it was uncomfortable enough to look at her barely clothed with a officers jacket."Get her to the ambulance. Call in for a rape kit too. I wanna know what sick sonofabitch would do this to this child!"
He was beyond angry.
He had never seen an assult like this before.
These things didn't happen in his area.Sheri ran over crying out.
"Woodz! Oh my God! Sweetie! Are you ok? Who did this?!"
The office handed her over to the medical personnel who started to strap her down on a gurney.
Sheri wanted to pass out seeing her daughter in this state.
But she had to be strong for her.
She needed someone to lean on in case she experienced trama.Woodz started to speak, but it was too muffled.
It was like she couldn't almost."What sweetie? What is it?"
"It's..." She started to whisper, "it's in the woods..."
Sheri saw how her eyes went horrifically wide as she said her sentence.
The EMTs looked at Sheri, as in saying they needed to get going. They loaded her up into the ambulance, shutting the two double doors.
It was then Sheri realized that maybe she was never sexually assulted like the Chief believed.
She tried to erase the thoughts that were clouding her mind.
But she couldn't help but think. Please, don't let it be those monsters...
