__________________________________He stared out over the waters horizon.
The crisp, cool night struck his face, causing a shiver. He rolled his black scarf up to his mouth, and brought his feathered hood over his head to keep himself warm against the sudden harsh breeze's chill. It was a quiet night in New York.
The pier was isolated from most places outside of the city.He was a long way from home, but this was, and always will be, his job. He started thinking about home at that moment.
How he could be inside next to the warm fire along side his gorgeous wife he claimed four years ago.
He knew all those years ago she was perfect for him when they first met.
She was not only stunning, but she was fiesty and proactive.
She wasn't even phased when he finally told her after a year into the relationship, and almost getting not only shot but captured by authorities, that he was a high end criminal and boss of a major illegal weapons and drugs shipment business.
He remembered how silent she was at first.
But then she smiled widely and proceeded to embrace him with a loving kiss, thanking him for telling her the truth.
It was also the same day he proposed to her as well, not wanting to ever have her taken by another man.
She was his ride or die.
The men were sometimes more scared of her than they were of him and, for once, it made him proud he had a special lady who could hold her own against his boys."Jason, shipments about a hundred feet out. I'll get the team ready in case the dealers try anything stupid."
Hudson pulled him out of his thoughts.
Jason cracked his neck to the side, pulled out his pack of cigarettes, and lit one up. As he exhaled the smoke, mixed with his own breath from the cold, he looked over at Hudson.
"Good, let's not have another showdown like last time."
Hudson nodded in approval, and walked over to the black truck.
Jason stood smoking, hearing the sounds of magazine clips being loaded into assult riffles and handguns. He pulled out his own pistol ,given to him by his wife, and cocked back the barrel checking to see if it was loaded and ready to use.
Dropping his finished cigarette and walking towards his gang, he started to inform them.
"So, this is what's going to happen. When the boat arrives, I want Frost, John, Ryan, and Hicks to grab out shipment and load it on the truck. Hudson, Rodger. I want you guys up on those rooftops," he pointed to the two small abandoned houses a few yards out, "you'll be lookout in case these bastards try anything funny. Me and Sylvestor will stay near the entrance of the dock and make ourselves look pretty."
Everyone chuckled at the comedic remark.
After waiting for twenty minutes, the boat made its appearance from the light fog drifting away.
Jason nodded to his men, and they all got ready in their assigned positions.
The boat arrived right on time.
The entrance was lowered so the four men could step on to grab their shipment.Little did they know, a mysterious figure was lurking in the shadows, watching everyone's every move.
It stalked the men on land and on the boat. The main man walks past the four men who entered the boat and up to Jason.
He looked Jason up and down, smirking.
"So? This is the famous Jason McCann everyone's talked about?" says the terrible Russian accented fellow.
