Love Never Dies

I stood on the stage now, staring out into the darkness of the audience. I could only think of Gustov now. It terrified me to be without him, and now I needed him more than anything.

"Who knows when love begins, who knows what makes it start

One day it's simply there, alive inside your heart

It slips into your thoughts, it infiltrates your soul

It takes you by surprise, then seizes full control

Try to deny it and try to protest

But love won't let you go, once you've been possessed

Love never dies, love never falters

Once it has spoken, love is yours

Love never fails, love never alters

Hearts may get broken, love endures

Hearts may get broken, love endures

And soon as you submit, surrender flesh and bone

That love takes on a life much bigger than your own

It uses you at whim, and drives you to despair

And forces you to feel more joy than you can bear

Love gives you pleasure and love brings yopu pain

And yet, when both are gone, love will still remain

Once it has spoken, love is yours

Love never dies, love never alters

Hearts may get broken, love endures

Hearts may get broken...

Love never dies, love will continue

Love keeps on beating, when you're gone

Love never dies, once it is in you

Life may be fleeting, love lives on

Life may be fleeting

Love lives on."

The applause reminded me of ten years ago, when it once truly mattered to me. But this meant... I would need to leave... to flee this place with Gustov.

"Ah, Brighten, my Brighten,

What a triumph you gave me tonight

My Brighten, all the dark silent years now set right, ah Brighten." Erik whispered as he walked into my dressing room.

"The song was beautiful, it sounded beautiful

Every note, every word

And it felt beautiful, and I felt beautiful"

Erik smiled and touched my cheek as we sang together. "Lost in the music once more

Feeling it rise up and soar

Alive once again!"

"Tell me," he began as he sat next to me. "What would you like?"

"My son." I whispered. It's true, I do want my son. I want him in my arms next to me, hugging me.

Erik smiled and nodded. "Gaston, where is Gustov?" he asked, the man at the door answered him.

"Monsieur, he was taken by Mrs. Giry."

I stood. "Meg? Or Madam Giry?" I asked.

"Gaston! Fetch Madam Giry! Fetch her now!"

Gaston ran off as I began to panick. "Erik, my son."
