"Samantha, wake up. Samantha, your going to be late and so am I" mom said. I threw the blankets to the side and got up. "Get ready and don't miss the bus" mom said before leaving and shutting the door behind her.
I went through my what was once organized closet. I found my light washed skinny jeans and my purple t-shirt. I tied my hair up, slipped on my black tennis shoes on, grabbed my phone and went downstairs.
I grabbed my backpack and hoodie and opened the door to leave when I saw my best friend Sara. "Hey Sam" she said as I walked out the door. "Hey Sara" I said closing the door. We hugged. "You excited for school?" She asked. "Hardly" I said.
"Why? There will probably be hot guys" she said. "Yeah, no. I need to focus on my schooling to get into a good college" I said.
"Your so boring" she complained as we got to the bus stop. "Come on, its senior year. Loosen up a bit" she said. "Sorry, but school comes first" I said.
We looked around then spotted two blonde haired boys were in their phone also waiting. They were so focused on what ever they were doing that the didn't even know we were here.
The one with shorter hair jumped up in excitement. "Marcus! I leveled up!" He exclaimed. "Good job" the other boy said still not taking his eyes off his phone.
The one with the shorter hair moved closer to us, accidentally brushing up against Sara. He looked up, jumped and screamed. The other boy looked up and sorta jumped as well.
Sara and I just looked at each other, biting our lips trying to hold back the giggles. She was turning red as I could feel my face heat up. She looked like a tomato with eyes, a nose, a mouth and eyebrows.
She started laughing. I was still trying not to, but I couldn't handle it anymore. I laughed with her. We got our selves together, but once we looked at the boys we laughed again. I turned around so I would stop laughing. I think I got this.
I turned around and they both were just looking at us. I nudged Sara and she pulled her self together. "We didn't mean to scare you" we said.
"It's okay" the one on the bench said. "Since I have never seen you two before I assume your the new girls" the one with shorter hair said. We nodded. "Wait, your Samantha and Sara?" The one on the bench asked. We nodded.
"All of our moms have been talking" the one with shorter hair said. "Oh, by the way I'm Marcus" the one on the bench said. "And I am Martinus" the boy next to us said. We nodded and all shook hands.
The bus came and we all got on. Sara and I sat up front as did Marcus and Martinus. The bus began to fill with kids. We made it to school and got to the office.
We got our schedules and compared them. "Four out of seven classes together" I said. "That is way too less" she said. "I know" I said as the bell rang. We got to our lockers and grabbed our books before going to class.
Class was okay, but now its time for lunch. I got into the cafeteria and automatically could see each group of kids.
There was the jocks which had a football and ruby ball, there was the cheerleaders who had pom poms, there was the volleyball girls, the popular girls and boys, the troubled kids, the nerds, and the nobodies. Typical highschool.
It was obvious. I met up with Sara and we got lunch. We sat at a table that was empty. I spotted Marcus and Martinus coming our way. Something was different about Marcus. He was special.
I felt like I connected with him on a whole other level. They sat down with a smile. "So how is your first day so far?" Martinus asked. "Well most schools are hell, but this one is okay" I said. "Don't like school much huh?" Marcus asked.
"She hates it, but still wants to go to college" Sara said. "Same here" Marcus said. We talked for the rest of lunch then went to class. I have two classes with Martinus and three with Marcus.
Ah, the name Marcus is like a melody in my head that I never want to end. My thoughts were interrupted by the bell. Kids raced out the door. I grabbed my stack of homework and went home.
I did my homework and went to bed. I will figure the mystery behind Marcus and I out.
