I woke up the next day and got ready. Like always Sara came by and we walked to school. The whole walk was silent.

We skipped the bus because of yesterday. We got to the school yard and I dreaded coming back. As soon as we got to the building someone covered my mouth and pulled me behind the school.

It was the same guy from yesterday. "What do you want?!" I asked. "I want you, of course." He said. "Well I'm not available" I said. "If Marcus wants you, I want you and I always get what I want..." He said.

"And if you don't say we're dating, then bad things will happen..." He said. "What is your problem with Marcus?!" I asked. "He stole what I wanted most, so now I will steal what he wants" he said. "What did he steal?" I asked.

"He stole the final spot in the Soccer League" he said. "This all about a stupid spot on the soccer league?!" I asked.

"It isn't stupid! I wanted it, so he had to sign up as well! He got the spot and I got a maybe next year when the seniors graduate speech!" He yelled.

"He and I use to be friends until him and Martinus got famous and left me in the dust!" He said. "Now he is King of the school and I am a nobody!" He said.

I tied it all together. He is bulling and hurting others to get to the top again. He wants to be friends with Marcus again. He feels unimportant and he is broken. Instead of using words he uses violence. The only reason he has "friends" is because they are too scared to not be.

"I just figured you out" I said. "Yeah right!" He scoffed. "You bully and hurt others so you can be King again. You feel unimportant and you're broken. You use violence instead of words. You want to be friends with Marcus again" I said.

His eyes went from cole black to a soft brown color then back to black. Oh no. "You know nothing about me!" He said. "I know more than you think" I said. "Whatever, so you know that. Go ahead go spread it around the school" he said before turning around and starting to walk away.

"I won't do that!" I called. He turned around. "And why not?! Everyone else would" he called back. I walked closer. "I'm not everyone else" I said. He came closer. "I want to help you" I said.

"How?! I have been in anger management classes, I have been in therapy, nothing works! So what makes you think you can help a broken loser like me?!" He asked. "Because, I think I can" I said.

"Yeah right, even my own parent is scared of me!" He said. "Well I'm not" I said. "Listen brave little girl, I don't need help, especially not from you!" He said.

"You just said your parent is scared of you, I think that is enough proof that you need help" I said. "Fine, how are you going to help me?!" He asked. "We can start after school. I need your name first, and your phone number" I said.

"Hunter Foss" he said. He pulled out a piece of paper and wrote his number on it then handed it to me. "I am Samantha Swift, but people call me Sam." I said. I handed him a slip of paper with my phone number on it.

We went to class. We were both really late, but I didn't care. At lunch, Sara sat with Marcus, Martinus and their friends while I sat with Hunter.

After school I went home and grabbed ta pair of boxing gloves from the basement and put on my gym outfit. Shorts, a tank top and tennis shoes.

I got a call as soon as I finished putting my hair up. It was Hunter. I answered it.

"Hey" he said.  "Hey" I said. "So where are we going?" He asked. "The gym here in town" I said. "Cool, I will be there in five" he said. "Okay" I said then we hung up. I told my mom where I was going, and she said it was fine. I went to the gym and waited about 30 seconds before Hunter walked over to me.

I handed him a pair of gloves. We walked over to the punching bags. "Okay, so your going to hit the bag while you say everything that has ever made you this angry" I said. He nodded and we began.

"Marcus stole the spot in the soccer league" he repeated over and over. Surely that can't be the only thing behind his anger. I stopped him. "I know that you are above the surface, go deep and say everything" I said.

He nodded and started punching again. "My dad died last year, my mom is always drunk, my big brother moved out  leaving me and my little sister with my mom. My mom says that we are not worth her time and we are useless. She abusively hits us every day. She tells us that it would be better if we were dead too." He said punching it harder.

I saw tears run down his face and told him to stop. He stopped. I hugged him tightly. "I am so sorry" I said. "I have to go" he said. I nodded. "Will I see you tomorrow?" I asked. He nodded. "Text me if you need anything" I said. He nodded, handed me my gloves and walked away.

I went home and my mom was on the couch. "Mommy..." I said. She looked up. "What do you want now?" She asked letting out a sigh. "I know you're going to say no but we need to help two kids..." I said.

"Help? What do you mean?" She said. I explained to her about Hunter and his sister. "Oh my god!" She said. I nodded. "Well we have two extra rooms..." She said. I nodded. "I will talk to the child adoption agency and maybe we can adopt them." She said.

I gasped and hugged her. I thanked her and went to bed. I really want to help Hunter and his little sister!!
