"You're really beginning to annoy.", I told Cole for the umpteenth time. " I'm pretty sure you're in the fine arts class only to pick up girls."

"If you knew any thing about me you would know that I draw pretty well."

I raised my eyebrows sceptically.

"Alright 'ok' well"

This time I crossed my arms across my chest and gave him a long hard stare. " Well if you must know stick figures and potato shapes are my speciality. I bet I could beat your ass any day, at a stick figure drawing contest."

I couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"Absolutely hilarious, I presume."

Moving my attention towards the canvas in front of me, I closed my eyes for a moment. I imagined a sun setting on a beach, causing the water to turn a shade of crimson. The rich red and orange colours of the sun faded as the sun sank below the horizon.

"You know you look really cute when you're focusing so intently.", Cole said breaking my thought stream. "Its not going to work ,Cole.", I said." I know people like you too well."

"Do you now?", he asked tauntingly. Ignoring him,I dipped the paintbrush in my hand into pot of rich red colour.

Seeing Michelle Gregorio walk into the room his attention immediately shifted. Why was I not surprised?

Fine art class was going pretty well , if it wasn't for Cole's incessant comments while I tried to paint.

"So Victoria, I heared that you made a bet with Chase", Michelle asked matter-of-factly. "Yeah. I did actually.", I said as sweetly as she had.

"Well good luck with that.", she said but I could sense the insincerity in her voice.

When Anna had heard of my little wager with Chase she went ballistic! To say that she lost it, would be an under estimation. I actually thought that I was going to die! She is not one you pick a fight with, and if by chance you happen to piss her off, get ready for all hell to break loose.

"Why?",she yelled, "Why would you drag me into this bet? You know how much I hate that ogre and that is the fellow you decide to pair me up with."

"He ain't that bad.......", I began."Not that bad? not that bad? Please tell me you're drunk or I swear to God, I am gonna......"

"Anna, I'm really sorry. I don't know what I was thinking.", I said making my best puppy dog face impression.

She sighed. Looking at me for a long moment, she gave me a sadistic smile and finally said," I'll make him wish that he wasn't born."

It was all I could do from hugging her.

Cole was at that very moment flirting his head off, and funnily enough Michelle was reciprocating! Was she really that dumb not to realise that Cole just wanted to get in her pants?

He caught me staring at him and shot a two hundred watt smile and a thumbs up. I just rolled my eyes in disgust.

After what seemed an eternity, he finally sauntered over to where I was sitting. "Nailed it.", he said confidently.

"I wonder if Tory, your girlfriend, knows that you just blew her off for Michelle....", I said slyly.

"You wouldn't.", he said threateningly.

"Try me.", I answered confidently, before I dashed out of the class, into the hallway.

"Watch out Anna. This time he's got a guitar.", Tyler said nudging Anna. She whipped her head around to see Chase enter the the cafe, holding a seriously sexy guitar. He headed straight to Andrew, the manager. "Uh-oh. You don't think he's going to do what I think he's going to do is he?",I asked. "Huh?", everyone at the table looked at my like I had grown a second head. But before I could explain myself, the strum of a guitar interrupted me.

"I would like to dedicate a song for a very special girl.", Chase said before he began to play.

"You don't really know how I feel,

But I just got to tell you that it's real.

Please put me out of my misery,

and let me take you to the dance in January."

He was looking intently at Anna, searching her face to see the expression on it. Her mouth was hanging open wide, in shock. Her face showed all her inner emotions-shock, mortification, growing anger and embarrassment.

An awkward silence filled the air, as the whole cafe turned to stare at him. He seemed, weirdly oblivious to their stares. His eyes were plastered on Anna.

The silence was broken when an elderly man at the back booth of the cafe burst into laughter. However, his laughter seemed a bit ajar, as everyone else remained silent, staring at Chase, observing his expression. Anna was at this moment, turning a bright shade of red and sinking in her seat avoid the gazes that were being tossed at her.

"This is so embarrassing", Anna hissed at me.

She finally stood up. "Ok. I have seriously had it with you! You win, Chase. I will go to the dance with you. Are you happy?", she said angrily.

"Immensely", a smug smile forming across his face, as he looked at me, a devilish sparkle in his eyes.
