"Luna!" Alex shouts loudly. "Get your ass down now otherwise I'm leaving without you!"
"Coming!" I yell back, huffing and looking at my reflection one last time. Feeling satisfied with the way I looked I smiled.
Three months ago, you wouldn't have been able to recognise me. I was a complete mess, frail and broken that I never cared about my appearence until of recent.
Back then my black kiny hair full of like that reached my waist when stretched was dull, dead and untamed. My ebony skin was no better. It was unusually pale with bruises all over from where I was continuously beaten by my ex-boyfriend, Edward.
All in all, I was a complete mess but now I can see a huge difference.
My hair was back to its healthy, maintained self.

My dark skin that kind of resembled chocolate was clear and free from any reminders of the abuses I had gone through.
I had also gained a lot of weight. Back then you could have mistaken me for being anorexic due to malnurishment and never having an appetite, but now my body was healthy with curves in all the right places meaning, big butt, small waist and my size double d breasts.

My once hollowed facial features had now blossomed. my lips that used to be so colourless and chapped were now thick, full and plump with colour in them. My once lifeless big chocolate brown eyes sparkled with life that if you had seen them 7 months ago, you would have been fooled. All in all, I looked good or at least better than before.
It angers me how one person can have such an effect on you almost to the point that it is irreversible, but after the seven months of hard work, whether it be going to the gym, eating, and looking after my self which I wouldn't have been able to acomplish without the help and self motivation of my best friend, I have finally learnt to put the past behind and I am ready to live and rock college life to the fullest.
With one more look around 'my room', I turned off the light and walked down the stairs with my suitcase.
Today is the day Alex and I are moving out to head for college. Luckily, we both applied and got into the same college. I just pray that we end up sharing dorms or are at least in the same block.
