Chapter 6: Misunderstanding

I'm walking to school alone today. I haven't seen Yan-chan or Uekiya-senpai. I feel so lonely... To ease my loneliness, I took out my phone and decided to check my email through my phone. As expected, tons from my parents. I didn't dare to look at it, it's probably the usual; "Are you doing alright on your own?" or "Come visit us when you get the chance". I sigh as I put my phone back into my pocket. When I turned to look where I was, school is still so far away. Argh! What to do?

I kept walking and walking that I wasn't paying attention to the road anymore. Someone then pulled my arm releasing me from my trance. Just suddenly, I saw a speeding car pass by. I was caught by surprise. I turn to look at who my pulled me; he was wearing our school's boys' uniform but I don't think know him (Did you thought it was your senpai? ^^;;). He's wearing an arm band so I'm guessing that he's a club leader... of the Gaming Club. His name was Gema Taku, I think.

"You should really look in front of you..." he says to me as he looks back at his game. "S-sorry. Um, thank you for saving me..." I say to him a I bow. He just took a glance at me and said, "It's fine..." An awkward silence envelops us before he spoke once again, "...if you want, we can walk to school together..." I was caught in surprise by his words but I still nodded.

He showed me his games as we walk. It's kinda awkward walking to school with a boy, I'm not really used with being with a boy. Well, we do have some similar interests and those thing averted me from the awkwardness.

It's weird how time flies so fast if I'm with someone, I'm already at school. I say goodbye to Taku-senpai as we parted. He is a 3rd year so that's why I'm calling him by senpai. I felt eyes staring at me when I was with Taku-senpai but it's gone now. Coincidence? Maybe? Or someone is stalking me if I'm with others. I just shrugged it off.

I check my phone again to see if I have a more interesting message. Apparently, I do. It's from an unknown number and the message is freaking me out; "Meet me at the gates after your club activity, or else. Go alone." Who would send me this? More importantly, why? They had to make it more intimidating by adding "or else". Should I go? I sigh, it's probably just a misunderstanding or something in those lines. I closed my phone because of fear and just kept drinking the juice I had in my hand.

*After Classes*

Okay, so after my club activities, someone threatens me to meet with them at the gates. I shrug at my schedule. This day is going to be fun... I walk to my club room looking down, literally. I was one of the firsts to go to the room, senpai also.

Minutes after waiting, everyone was here except for Ato-san. "Let's start", senpai said making me a bit confused. There's still some time before the designated time to start but I didn't question him. He probably knows what's going on.

We went to our easels after changing into our painter's smock. "Presentation at Friday", senpai said to us. What to make now? It's still quite some time before the presentation... I think I should make abstract art? It fits my mood right now because of my anxiousness. I started doing something like a sunset.

I got so into painting that I didn't even knew it was time to leave. I left with everyone but I was at the back. When we reached the gate, I stopped. Senpai then suddenly turned around and went to me. Did he notice? He gave me a questioning look and I quickly understand what he was trying to say: "Why did you stop?" "Uh, well. I am waiting for someone" I say to him. "We're last", he says to me. O-oh, our club was last to go out... "They said to wait for me here. I'm gonna wait a couple more minutes before I go home."

"Here", he says to me as he showed me his phone number. "H-huh? Why?" "For emergencies", d-does he care about me? This is no time to think about that! I grabbed my phone from my pocket and we exchanged numbers. He waved goodbye to me as he left.

As I smile about the scenario earlier, I felt a pair of hands cover my mouth. I was able to break free from them before I went unconscious. The person was wearing a mask so I can't see their face, I could only guess that they were a girl because of the feminine body. "A-are you the one who threatened me?", I ask her. "Yes, unfortunately you had to make it more hard for me to teach you a lesson", she lunge at me with a knife in her hand. I barely dodged her. "Stay still, will you?!", she said, frustrated. "Gema-kun is mine only!" "Wait, this is a huge misunderstanding! I don't like Taku-senpai like that." "Liar! I saw the both of you walking to school together!"

I wasn't able to dodge her attack. Luckily, she only stabbed me at my shoulder. Surprisingly, she let go of the knife. This is really painful! "What happened?!", a teacher was running towards us. "...sorry", the masked girl said to me before she fled. Suddenly, I fell unconscious...

I woke up at a hospital bed, my arm is fixed up. I looked at the clock, 11: 38. I sigh remembering my heart disorder. I'm guessing I won't be able to go to school tomorrow... I saw a note at the bedside table, probably left by the teachers.

I lay my head on the pillow. I should get some sleep, hopefully this whole incident won't go crazy...
