As I run away from my house I hear screams. I don't want to listen, I search my pockets to find my iPod, but find that I left it in my house. I try to figure out where to go, who could I actually trust? Derek? No, I can't. His girlfriend is Linsey, how could I trust him now? What if he doesn't know what she has been doing to me? I have to find out, I might go insane if I don't find out.

I turn to go to the blue rose and hear a gun shot from my house.

I stop mid run. I realized that my father has a gun in the closet next to my room. He must have gotten so angry that he.......I fall to the rocky road and start to cry.

I grab my stomach to try to stop the hiccuping that I have started. I've never cried so hard in my life. Not even when my father hits me with his belt. Or when Brad kicks me in my already bruised ribs.

This pain that I feel is completely different then from physical or verbal pain. I sit up and scream at the top of my lungs. I realized right after that father might have herd me even though I was a block away. I get up and start for the blue rose once again.

I walk up to the blue rose and stop at the door. I look through the window and see that there is a woman at the cash register. She is blond and extrenmly short. She is wearing a pink blowse and a high jean skirt. Ive never seen her before. I slowly walk in. The bell rings that a customer has come and she turns around with a smile on her face. Then the smile slowly fades.

"Oh honey! What happened to you?" I run to look in the mirror in the back room and realize the wound on my face hasn't exactly healed, and with my face being red and Buffy from crying it made it a lot worse.

"I'm fine. I got this a couple of days ago." I walk up to the counter.

"Um, so what's your name?" I asked shyly.

"My name is Alexis. I'm Derek's sister." I didn't know that Derek had a sister. Or any siblings for that matter. Well I didn't really know Derek all that well either so it would make sense.

"My name is Elizabeth. Derek and I are....." Should I consider him a friend?? Instead of thinking about it so hard I said, "some what friends."

Derek then walked in from the back where he had taken. Care of me that one night, and he looked surprised to see me.

"Liz, what are you doing here? I wasn't expecting.....are you okay?? It looks like you've been crying." I hurriedly tty and wipe whatever tears have been on my face, or at least try to stop the redness that always happens when I cry. "I'm fine Derek. I came here to ask you about something."

"Then let's go over here." He pointed to a leather coach. I walked over and sat down.

"Ok......this is kind of hard for me since I don't know you very well yet, but.....um......are you dating the Linsey that's father is a cop?" He looked surprised. He got up and started pacing. He rubbed his hair through his hair and quietly said, "I used to......I broke up with her today." I suddenly felt as surprised as he looked.

"May I ask.....why?" He sighed heavily. And turned to me and said, "I did because when I mentioned you to her, she told me everything that she did to you and expected me to laugh with her. Also to do all the bad things with her. I was sick of her crap any way, and finally decided to break it off."

His answer surprised me even more. He broke up with her because of me. Well part of it for me.

"You know, you didn't have to do that."

"It wasn't right what she was doing to you. And, like I said, I was done with her any way."

"Well, thanks I guess.......um Derek. Can I ask you another question?" He shook his head.

"Can I sleep here again tonight. There's something going on at my house and...."

"Say no more. You are welcome to stay here any time. I'm going to bed now. Good night." He got up and kissed my forehead. I felt so much better. Even after all that had happened at home.
