Chapter 3: School Time

Kayley’s point of view.

It was my first day of school, back in the same high school for one last year. I was so happy that it was the beginning of a new school year, because last year was terrible. Me and my now ex boyfriend Niall, who I really loved, broke up. During the summer, I found somebody new, and we both started dating. 

I locked the front door, and walked to school. When I got there, my boyfriend Jake met me at the entrance, and we both walked into school holding hands. When I got into the building Niall was standing there with his friends, and as I walked past him, it felt as if he was staring at me. I heard somebody say something about me, and then he laughed. I just shrugged it off and kept walking. The bell was about to ring so I walked into my first class of the day.

Unlucky for me Niall was in my first class, and he was standing right by the door? Again, I ignored him and walked by him to sit next to my friends.

During class, it was really awkward because all I wanted was my boyfriend by my side. Niall was acting really weird, and it made me feel uncomfortable. Class was over, and I walked to my second class. The boy that sat next to Niall last class came over and sat next to me. “Hello” he said. 

“Hi?” 

“You know, Niall still loves you right?” 

“How do you know, besides he broke up with Me.” 

“When you first entered through the doors, he couldn’t take his eyes off you, and plus I sat next to him, the whole time last class, and he wouldn’t stop talking about you.”

“I have a boyfriend and he knows that”. 

“He said that he was going to take him out in the back of the school, and fight him for you. He wanted me to spread the word, that there was going to be a fight today”. The boy then got up and went to sit next to these other girls, telling them about the fight.

I can’t believe what I just heard.

By the time it got to lunch, I grabbed Niall’s arm and pulled him into the hallway. 

“Are you crazy?” I said to him. 

“I still love you, and breaking up with you was the stupidest thing I have ever done. I am going to fight this loser, so I can have you to myself once and for all.” 

“Niall you dumped me, and if you wanted me back why didn’t you talk to me about it?” 

“I figured you wouldn’t listen and if this is the only way to prove that you belong with me, then this is how I will prove it”. 

That was the last thing Niall said to me before he walked off, and entered the cafeteria. I wasn’t hungry for lunch anymore; I was just replaying what Niall had said to me. He really loved me, all along. I had to warn my boyfriend about Niall, so I ran into the cafeteria. 

Suddenly I heard “fight, fight”! Niall had started a fight with Jake during lunch. Niall shoved Jake, and Jake tried to punch him in the face.

Niall then tackled him to the ground and got one shot in his face before a teacher came and broke them apart, and took them to the office.

Minutes later after the fight, I ran to the office to check on the boys. I first went to my boyfriend, who was lying down in the clinic bed with an ice pack over his face.

“Jake?” I said sweetly. He looked up at me and then looked away. 

“Kayley, I think we should end this, he obviously loves you if he did this to me, and you and me we are not right for each other.” I was kinda happy that he said this, because after what Niall said, I kind of loved him again. I went over and kissed my now ex boyfriend on the cheek, and gave him a hug. I walked out of his room, and ran to Niall. He looked up at me, and I ran into his arms. 

“I guess that means we are back together?” Niall said happy. 

“Yes it does”. I kissed Niall, and I never felt happier.
