Chased Destiny

CHAPTER - 1

It was one of those deep stromy night of London. In a dim lighted room we see a girl in her early twenties sitting by her table more like leaning over it , her long silky hair which were blowing because of wind are covering her angelic face which includes her big doe eyes a cute little nose and pink pouty lips. Her head resting on one hand and other busy playing with a paper weight abesentmindly. Soft music playing in background from her music system. Just then a guy around her age enters in the room slowly closing the door behind . The guys face not cleary visible in the dim light but making out of his bodily outline he is a greek not a geek . He slowly make his way towards music system and change the music into some old funny ballet , the girl still oblivious to her surrounding came out of her trance when music got too loud to ignore she slowly move herself from the table and turned towards the guy. Intently looking towards the guy with all kind of emotions which includes lots of anger , confusion and affection . The guy make a move towards her and ask for her hand , girl still looking at him with the emotions described earlier but place her hand in guy's hand and stood up the funny music still going in the background, holding each other's hand they start moving slowly well I said moving which do not mean dancing as the music start taking sharp turns there steps goes more intense hilariously I must add . After like bumping into each other , stomping on another's foot , twirling on the wrongs side and crashing against each other they finally come closer and rest their heads on either side of others shoulder embracing each other and finally the music also come to an emotional end sarcastically.

Slowly guy wispered in girl ear

HEY !!

The girl pushed the guy back. Slowly steeding on his feet the guy said

WHAT !! in little audible voice .

Mr. Manik Malhotra you showed up after weeks without even bothering to contact me. Not even caring my weddings is in two days suddenly turn up and say HEY !! the girl shouted loudly
Nandini really sorry yr I was just stuck with work the startup is going through and the band's progress is really steady I have to go but I am hear now before your wedding. Said manik softly

Oh! So doing some kind of mercy attending my wedding haan you jerk I should just never see your face too and hear goes all kind of swearing manik thought smiling slightly nandini on the other hand kept on shouting and swearing and even throwing things towards manik which he safely managed to douch out of finally calming down nan burst into tears and ran into manik's arm who happily compiled hugging her tightly saying sweet nothings in her ear to stop her hiccuping. They broke the hug end wisper together
I miss you and manage to seek a smile on each others tearful face.

Well didn't I mentioned manik is just as emotional as his best friend . Yes, best friends who met unexpectedly and now gonna part their ways unwillingly. Hope everything could be so smooth and easy like their friendship . In next two days nan gonna be married to her teenage love. And manik well what do you expect he is madly crazily in love with the girl infront of him but she love someone else she belongs to somebody else and our romeo , he just admitted the fact which took him weeks away from nandini the week does not only include mental and emotional breakdowns , many sleepless night and effortless drinking but also unwelcomed memories of their time together which for that instance he want to oblivate from his life. Don't we hear pain decreases with time but in manik's case it does not decrease but seems to increase in some days but after all this time he manage to go with it not that he want to let go of it afterall this pain will be the remaining of his love.

I really sorry nono but now I promise I will we there by you he said by cupping her face.

She smiles at his crazy nickname and said I know .

Hey! I bought u something just a min. He dug his hands in his pocket and retrieve a small velvet box he bend to his knees and open the box present a charms bracelet to her.

For life he slowly wispered

Always she mumbled slowly.
He got up and made her wear the bracelet.
It was beautiful combination of 24 charms each for different reasons indicating their two years together.
And in that instances nandini knew that bracelet is to celebrate their friendship and not a wedding gift.

He nodes his head and nan smilingly leaves for kitchen

The moment she left the door manik falls to his knees and tries to control his emotions he compose himself and slowly gotten up wash away his tear stained face before nandini can see it

Later that evening they have gala time together relishing there days together laughing on their own craziness and just like that another day came to an end.

Later manik leave for his place leaving a peacefully sleeping nandini behind suddenly his phone start ringing while he walked towards his car he retrieve it from his back pocket and glancing at it his lips pulled into a slight smile.

Hey dad !
Manik! How are you son?
Doing good dad. You say ?
I am good I am good you tell hows nandini ?
Just hearing her name is enough for manik to lost into his own world.

Manik? ?
She is getting married dad he wispered slowly
Manik but ...
Nothing dad I nothing ..
Her happiness is everything I can wish for u know that.

After a long pause
I know that but remember I am there for you always love u son
Love you too dad

He didn't even realise that he being gripping the driver's gate so tightly that it left deep marks in his palm. Shakily he sat in car and drove away to his apartment.
