"Oh, I'm just so glad that you're moving in with us. We're gonna be like sisters, but cousins!" A 9-year-old Donna Pinciotti says as she jumps up and down on her cousin's bed.

Summer would have also been jumping up and down, but she only moved to Pine Place because her mother was going to prison and her father took off when she was three.

"Yeah it'll be great." Summer says with a small smile.

Donna could tell her cousin wasn't all that excited. Then she got an idea.

"Do you want to meet some of my friends?" Donna asked as she got off of the bed.

Summer shruggs, twirling a strand of her hair.

Donna grabs her hand and leads her all the way over to the next door neighbors, not even knocking on the sliding glass door, before going in.

Summer sees a little woman smiling and baking cookies. She turns around from the oven and sees the two girls.

"Oh! Hello, Donna, who is your friend?" The woman asks.

"This is Summer, she will be living with me from now on." Donna says with a smile.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Summer, my name is Katherine, but you can call me Mrs. Forman." Mrs. Forman says and then goes back to baking.

Donna then continues to lead her down to a basement, where a skinny kid and a frizzy haired boy were sitting on a couch.

"Hey guys, this is my cousin, Summer. She lives with me now." Donna says and pushes Summer in front of her.

The skinny kid gets up and puts his hand up to shake. "Hi, I'm Eric."

Summer shakes his hand. "Hi."

The frizzy haired boy gets up from the couch and sighs. "I'm Hyde."

Summer nods with a small smile and looks at the ground.

"So, what brings you to this dump of a town." Hyde says with his arms crossed.

Summer looks up and feels her blood boil just at the thought of her mother.

"My mom went to prison, dad ditched." Summer says bluntly.

Donna pats on her back trying to comfort her.

"Sorry to hear that Summer." Eric says while awkwardly looking at Donna.

Hyde feels bad for her, relating to her pain of losing a parent.

"Well, my dad ditched last year, so." Hyde says and then sits back down on the couch.

Summer also feels bad for him, relating to a guy she doesn't even know. She walks over to the other side of the couch and sits down.

"Psh, who needs good parents, I've turned out fine. So far." Summer says, trying to joke about her situation.

Hyde didn't want to show it, but he already felt like they were going to be good friends.

"Yeah, who needs 'em."
