what do you think so far?

I snuck into Casper’s room again last night after having a nightmare.

I climbed in her bed and held her tight.

I worried I’m going to be alone again.

She woke up when I kissed her head and she turned to face me and we stayed silent for a while

It was perfect

I could just stare at her

Not the staring we did Gemma at Dad, the hard, cold one but the soft one.

That’s when we kissed,

I’ve never felt so happy and continent with that moment, if I could I would reply it over and over again.

She then wrapped her hands around my head and played with my hair and I kissed her neck softly. She then said she can never leave now and I said

‘Good’

The next day some kids in the home left and I woke up really early to make sure Casper wasn’t going to leave.

She then said she wanted to talk in the attic.

I sat there as she paced up and down.

She then said we should move out.

We,

I still sat there and she said ‘aren’t you going to say anything?’ and I thought.

What would I do if I lost her?

I made her promise she won’t leave me and she smiled and said she would never do that.

We arranged it with the staff and they agreed that it would be a good idea and we should find a job.

I’m getting a job Mum, Gemma. Are you proud?

Casper is.

We’ve tried to get lots of different jobs now Mum.

I got one, in a shop. Casper wants to babysit but I said that won’t get enough then she said that she will try the hairdressers.

I work behind the till and Casper works as a receptionist because she did her GCSE’s and got her maths, English, geography and art.

Then she dropped out.

Unlike me, I have two qualifications,

business and French GCSE before you died Mum,

remember how happy we were when I did them early in year 10?

You said you’d never felt happier.

I wonder what my school friends are doing.

Are they at University or work? Gap year?
