there were nothing but pure silence and awkwardness. i decide to break the silence and say something. i want to comfort him because of his eye. it's the least i can do.
"yoongi, are you mad at me?" i blurted out.
"no," yoongi says bluntly. yes, he's totally not mad at me.
i could easily tell he was lying. a bruise like that must cause him so pain, right?
"does your eye hurt?" i feel so fucking guilty. just bury me.
"no," he repeats.
i sigh, in relief i were saved but also in guilt.
"are you being honest? your eye looks really bad," i bring it up again as i stop in my tracks, demanding eye contact with him.
ouch, it's even worse looking him straight in the eye.
"ara, i told you already. my eye is fine, don't worry anymore longer," he says in a forced calm tone. he starts walking, not forgetting to grab my hand.
"i just- i will worry. are you sure that your okay?" I remark, seeking for honesty and just to make sure he were alright. i genuinely care.
"you should be asking your self that... you nearly got hurt," yoongi responds in a voice that signals that he was in fact, hurt. despite all of that, we aren't even that close for him to be pitying me.
"i'm sorry," i apologise, gripping tightly into his hand.
"no, i'm sorry. it's my fault. i should've walked the whole way with you," yoongi blames himself, making me satisfied with his caring and heartfelt side. but it isn't his fault, it's mine. and i owe him big time.
with that, his thumb circled the side my hand to show he meant it. my heart is pounding again, but it feels weird. don't tell me i'm in l-
"don't worry," i whisper softly under my breath. to not only reassure that i don't have feelings for yoongi and to also reassure yoongi i'm totally okay. thanks to him, at least.
