A Prophecy

Annabeth was in awe of the advanced technology they had. The only thing that came close to what they had was Daedalus's laptop she got from the labyrinth. Which later got lost in the depths of Tartarus. Along with the dagger Luke gave her, but she couldn't think about that now.

Alex Danvers had introduced Annabeth to Hank Henshaw, or J'onn J'ones.

"How did you know that I was reading your mind?" he asked, taking Annabeth of guard.

"I don't know. I just had this tingling feeling in the back of my head." Hank, or J'onn just nodded. "Must've been the godly senses, I guess," she reasoned.

Most of the employees at the D.E.O. were wary of her, not believing her claim of being half God. It's not like Annabeth had any powers like Percy or Hazel or Jason she could show them.

Then Hank asked, "Can I talk to you, Annabeth? Alone, please?" She nodded and followed Hank to the end of the corridor where they wouldn't be heard.

"Do you have any idea why you are here?" he asked curiously.

Annabeth opened her mouth to say no but stopped herself. She remembered her dream, and how Hermes said he was going to send someone who could save him and his children, but weren't on the greatest of terms. Hermes sent Annabeth. It all made sense now.

"Yes," she answered. Then Annabeth explained the whole situation of the Hermes kids going missing at camp and her dreams and the breaches at camp.

"So you are the child of a god-"

"Goddess," Annabeth corrected.

"Right. Goddess. And children of another god are going missing along with said god and this said god sent you here to come and save him and his children?" he asked.

"Pretty much, yea," Annabeth answered.

"I've lived for over 300 years and never have I thought of there being gods."

"300 years?"

"300 long years."

Annabeth shouldn't be surprised. He was an alien after all.

"We should head back now. Are you comfortable with telling the rest of the D.E.O. your reasons? We'd be much help. And we'd also be able to contact your Earth."

"Why would you do that? What if I'm lying and I'm actually someone from another Earth here to kill someone?"

Hank paused, as if giving her statement some thought. Then the tingling feeling returned and Annabeth knew that Hank was reading her mind.

"I trust you," he said after the tingling feeling subsided. "Because I read your mind and also because you let me. So what do you say? We're kind of bored around here since our last threat left and this'll keep us on our toes."

Annabeth thought for a moment. She knew she couldn't do this alone, despite wanting to. "I guess it's a team then." She held out her hand to shake. He shook it.

"Now let's go find a god and his children."

"Let's," and they headed back to the main area.

When they got there, almost everyone was crowded around Winn, who was holding a piece of paper. He looked pretty uncomfortable.

He spotted Hank and Annabeth and said, "Oh thank God you're here. This piece of paper with some sort of rhyming poem came out of another breach."

Annabeth froze. "Did you say rhyming poem?" she asked, fearing the answer.

"Yea. Why?"

"You have got to be kidding me," she muttered. "Give it to me." Winn passed the piece of paper to Annabeth.

With each passing line, Annabeth grew more pale.

"What does it mean?" asked Winn.

"It's a prophecy," she responded.

"Hermes and his children will be found,

But at the cost of someone being bound.

For the Gods of time have been ignored too long,

Their reasons, unknown to all.

The daughter of Wisdom will seek revenge,

For someone she wasn't able to avenge.

In the end, a brother shall perish,

And his father will deliver a message," Annabeth finished.

Winn whistled. "Whoever this daughter of Wisdom is I feel bad for her."

"That is most likely me," she glared at him. His eyes widened and he started stuttering.

"Uh, sorry?" Annabeth just rolled her eyes.

"You weren't kidding about the gods and stuff were you," said a D.E.O. employee.

"Why would I be kidding?" asked Annabeth incredulously.

"Well you didn't have much proof," retorted the employee.

"Well I'm sorry I don't have powers. If you gave me an IQ test I'd be able to triple Einstein's score."

"Impossible."

"Try me. My mother is the Goddess of wisdom."

"Ok ok break it up ladies," interrupted Kara. "There's no need to fight. Now let's focus on the task at hand. So how serious is this on a scale of one to ten?" she aksed.

The prophecy just doubled it, thought Annabeth. "I'd say around 6 or 7. Probably 6."

Kara looked skeptical. "What are you comparing it to?"

"The past two wars I've fought in." Kara's eyes widened, along with everyone else's, which was understandable.

"Two?" Kara squeaked out.

"Yes," Annabeth responded.

Winn whistled. "If you don't mind me asking, who were they against?"

"The first one the Second Titan War then the Second Giant War. Kronos was a big threat as it was, but once we defeated him, Gaea came along."

"Wait Kronos? As in the big bad time Titan Kronos?" Winn asked. Annabeth just nodded. "And Gaea. Isn't Mother Earth supposed to be not evil?"

"She's more evil than you think."

"Damn! Here I am scared to death by a mugging, and she's here having fought two wars! And you watch Doctor Who! You are more badass than Kara!" Annabeth managed to crack a smile, despite the somber topic.

"Hey!" Kara yelled. "But that's true." Annabeth laughed with Kara.

"When I asked you where you got your sword from, you said 'the deepest pits of hell,'" said Alex once the round of laughter died out.

Annabeth cleared her throat. "I don't want to talk about that." Her gaze became hard and her slight smile dropped.

Kara looked concerned. Annabeth was glad she didn't show pity. She hated pity.

"Alright. Enough of that. Let's find out who these Gods of Time are," said Annabeth while walking to one of the computers.

********************

The God was chained to a wall. Chains made of Celestial Bronze secured his wrists, ankles, neck, torso, and thighs. Golden ichor dripped from his nose and gashes on his chest.

You might be wondering, hey, isn't he a God? Can't he just, like, zap out of there.

No he cannot.

Why, you ask?

He is on another Earth.

is that a cliffhanger? idk.
